Orchid Cruises - Topklasse cruise 3 dagen Bezoek Halong & Lan Ha Bay

Great expérience and superb way to explore Ha Long Bay. Our 2 night/3 day cruise was amazing in all ways. Staff were very attentive and friendly. They couldn’t do enough for you. Quality and quantity of food was also outstanding. Itinerary had good mix of activities and there was no pressure to join in, if you wanted some relaxation time. Can’t rate this trip highly enough. Special mention for Jack on the team, whose service and attention to detail were excellent.

I am genuinely surprised that the reviews of Orchid Cruises 3 day 2 night cruise are as positive as they are, as our experience 4-6 Feb 26 (an adult family of 7 taking 4 cabins) was disappointing at best and was definitely not as described in the promotional literature. Others on our cruise were of the same opinion that there was no value in the additional night, as all that was provided was a visit to what could best be described as a souvenir village with a fish foot spa, it was not a traditional fishing village. Additionally the kayaking, which took place amongst numerous other boats, was in the same bay we had visited the previous day. There was no attempt to stop at the Ba Men Temple, visit a lagoon, the Dark and Light Caves or a floating village as described in our initial itinerary literature despite our passing near them. There was certainly no attempt to provide an “idyllic escape from the crowds”, on both nights we were moored in the same bay amongst many other boats. The map of the cruise on the Orchid web site is inaccurate, we went up and down the same channel 4 times during our time on the cruise. Naturally we expected Halong Bay to be busy but despite the marketing there was absolutely no effort to "get away from the crowds". The Orchid Classic boat itself was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful but it seemed they had been told to closely follow a very specific itinerary which was not the one we had been given, there was no flexibility. Our ‘exclusive’ suite which could have had a lovely view constantly overlooked the tenders which were moored to stern. Our son was initially in cabin 101 where tenders continually pulled up alongside with a direct view in his windows giving him no privacy, reluctantly they moved him to a room on the other side of the boat. The food was ok and the crew were very accommodating of any individual dietary requests. The drinks were very expensive with virtually nothing being included in the price of the cruise. The food on the day boat was awful with no choice. We took screenshots of our position on maps, which proved we had gone up and down the same channel 4 times and there was no attempt to visit any of the quiet locations as promised, it felt like we were constantly in a shipping lane, I did not feel comfortable swimming in what looked like highly polluted water. I am not writing this to complain, but to share an accurate description of what was and was not included on our cruise. I am not aware if all the cruise companies are the same and would just like to ensure others are not disappointed by the lack of exclusivity and promise of quiet locations. I must also stress the scenery in Halong Bay is absolutely stunning but if you take a cruise be prepared to share it with many others!

3 day, 2 night cruise on the Orchid Classic was excellent, very smart comfortable room, fantastic healthy fine dining, interesting excursions and demonstrations and very good quality massage services. Very well worth it, a fantastic experience.

Great experience on a well run / well appointed cruise boat. The staff, led by Mr Mel , were excellent throughout. The food was 1st class throughout the 3 day trip. In a country blessed with great food , the food on this boat was the best that we have enjoyed.

The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The room was lovely and clean. The food was delicious and had many options. Beautiful scenery and excursions. Highly recommend this tour!

Great overnight cruise. Beautiful scenery. Orchid Trendy Cruise was clean and room was huge for this type of cruise. Very comfortable. Lucas was a wonderful server with good English skills. Johnny was a fun excursion host.

We had a lovely time on our 3 day cruise. Our main staff person, Royal, was excellent and really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The activities off the ship were fun and the food was great. Highly recommended!

Loved this cruise! The Bay was even more beautiful than we imagined. The boat was excellent with superb staff. Special call out to Sky who made our dinning experience even extra special. Lily the staff manager went above and beyond to make sure all guest were happy and pampered. We highly recommend this cruise.

We took our grandson for the Sunday brunch for his birthday. While this is his favorite restaurant in the Branson. area, he had not been there for brunch. He couldn't believe the wonderful selection of well prepared and diverse food. Our server, Jon, was not disappointing either. He was an expectionally pleasant and accommodating server. It is such a pleasure to be at the Keeter Center with its extraordinary purpose and how well they carry out what they claim to be. Thank you!

Very very large comfortable cabins. All staff were well trained, courteous and friendly. Nothing was too much. Special thank you to Lily and Sky. With a HUGE thank you to Royal, who looked after us at every meal. The meals were excellent. Varied and fresh. We loved our side trips. Such a beautiful region of Vietnam.
