Liverpool heeft als stad zoveel te bieden en natuurlijk is het niet lichtvaardig dat we de thuisbasis zijn van de beste band ter wereld. Tijdens deze tour zullen we alles opsnuiven wat "The Beatles" tot een wereldwijde superster heeft geleid en meer te weten komen over de verhalen die hen hebben gemaakt tot wie ze zijn. We zullen alle dingen die "Beatles" zijn, in je opnemen en verkennen - van Penny Lane tot Strawberry Field en nog veel, veel meer!

We beginnen bij het iconische standbeeld van de Fab Four: John, Paul, George en Ringo. Dit ligt op een prachtige locatie bij Liverpool's Pier, direct aan de rivier de Mersey. Omringd door de historische "3 Graces"-gebouwen is er genoeg te zien en te leren in dit gebied en een aantal fantastische fotomomenten.
De kunstacademie waar John Lennon naartoe ging en die naast de middelbare school ligt waar Paul McCartney en George Harrison naar toe gingen. Hier bespreken we de begindagen van de band en blikken terug op hun tijd als de "Quarry Men" en ook op het spelen in Hamburg, Duitsland. Een prachtig deel van het stadscentrum, omringd door de twee kathedralen van Liverpool.
Een foto bij het oudste overgebleven verkeersbord 'Penny Lane' dat Paul McCartney onlangs heeft ondertekend. We bespreken onder meer waarom Paul het lied schreef en wat het voor hem betekende. Daarna rijden we door Penny Lane terwijl we uiteraard naar het lied luisteren en de omgeving in ons opnemen die Paul in het lied opsomt.
Johns prachtige lied ging over een plek waar hij vaak kwam en gelukkig is die plek er tot op de dag van vandaag nog steeds. Nu een modern bezoekerscentrum, souvenirwinkel en museum gewijd aan Johannes (dat nog steeds wordt gerund door het Leger des Heils). We maken een wandeling door de prachtige tuinen die John vaak bezocht en bezoeken ook de beroemde rode poorten - nemen de omgeving in zich op en bespreken alles wat met John te maken heeft.
Een unieke locatie met twee bijzondere ruimtes vlak naast elkaar. De plaats waar John en Paul elkaar voor het eerst ontmoetten als tieners en ook het graf van "Eleanor Rigby".
Als jonge man verhuisde John naar zijn tante Mimi in een prachtig huis waar zij hem opvoedde. Nu eigendom van en bewaard door de National Trust.
De thuisbasis van de familie McCartney tijdens de tienerjaren van Paul en ook de geboorteplaats van veel van hun vroege hits. Paul en John brachten talloze uren in dit huis door met schrijven en repeteren.
Ringo kwam absoluut uit een bescheiden begin en groeide op op een plek die hij nauw aan het hart ligt. We bekijken zijn kleine ouderlijk huis en ook het prachtige schilderij van hem ernaast.
We bekijken de beroemdste club ter wereld "The Cavern" van buitenaf - gelegen aan Mathew Street. The Beatles speelden hier 292 keer en het was hun thuis en de plek waar ze veel van hun vroege volgers kregen.
Bezoek het eerste huis waar George als jonge jongen opgroeide in de arbeidersklasse Liverpool en verken zijn nederige begin.

My husband Dean and I had a fantastic private Beatles tour with Marc. We started at the Beatles statue and then visited Penny Lane and Strawberry Field, along with several other iconic locations connected to the band's history. His insights have actually changed the way I listen to Beatles music. I now catch references and meanings that I never understood before. Our tour guide was exceptional. He knew all sorts of Beatles history. As our tour progressed he played Beatles music significant to where we were located. I.E. played Penny Lane on Penny Lane road. At the end of the tour he dropped us off at a pub where we enjoyed Fish and Chips, and then walked back to our ship, after he gave us specific directions first. He told us we were lucky doing the tour early for the traffic wasn’t bad. Well done.

We only had one day in Liverpool since we took the train up from London. This tour is an absolute must for not only Beatles fans, but also anyone interested in history. Our guide, Mark, rightly told us that you cannot understand the Beatles and their music without understanding Liverpool and our city tour was so insightful. Lots of cool surprises, We then took in all of the Beatles sights and were in no way disappointed. Mark was so knowledgeable and full of personality.
