Onze Talking Through Art Walking Tour biedt een authentiek leuk, informatief en uniek persoonlijk inzicht in de cultuur, geschiedenis en het dagelijkse leven van Gikondo. Je krijgt de kans om enkele van de verborgen gebieden van onze lokale gemeenschap te verkennen en jezelf onder te dompelen in de Rwandese cultuur en het dagelijkse leven in dit bruisende en levendige deel van Kigali. Je wandeltocht wordt geleid door een lokale gids die zijn hele leven in Gikondo heeft gewoond en gewerkt en een schat aan interessante informatie is! We leiden je naar een van de bruisende traditionele straatmarkten in de buurt, waar je verse lokale producten kunt ontdekken en kunt genieten van de levendige sfeer. We stoppen voor een heerlijke, vers bereide sambusa-snack en nemen een pauze in een nabijgelegen melkwinkel waar je gekoelde ikivuguto, een traditionele Rwandese drank, kunt proberen.

Onze Walking Tour begint bij Talking Through Art met een introductie in de geschiedenis van het centrum en het werk dat we hier doen. U krijgt de gelegenheid om onze galerij te verkennen terwijl u geniet van de lokale koffie of thee. Je hebt ook tijd om met onze wevers om te gaan en ze te ontmoeten.

I really enjoyed this walking tour in Kigali with TTA. Our local guide Omar was the best we could have wished for. He connected small neighbourhood details to the bigger picture of Kigali and Rwanda’s history and culture. This way we could really feel the city. He was clearly a part of the community, people greeted him along the way, which made the experience feel authentic and personal. I came away with a much deeper understanding of Kigali and would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in meaningful local insight rather than just sightseeing.

We got a really good tour through the neighborhood together with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. Through him we could easily visit the streets beyond the “ordinary”, see regular shops and experience the pulse of the city. We were a bunch of friends and had a long series of questions that the guide was happy to answer. Highly recommend this hike, as well as a visit to their nice shop!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Talking Through Art walking tour. The tour allowed me to walk the roads where the people of Rwanda live and get a glimpse of the neighborhood and how the community works. My tour guide was a lovely young man who was knowledgeable of the area and curious about other cultures and communities. The weaving that was done by the local women was outstanding. I only wish I had more room in my suitcase! I highly recommend this tour.
