Het startpunt is voor Info Bosnia Tourist Information Center gelegen aan de belangrijkste voetgangersstraat Ferhadija, net naast "Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures".
De moskee van Gazi Husrev-Bey werd gebouwd in 1530/31 in de stijl van Vroeg-Istanbul en het is het centrale gebouw van Gazq Husrev-bey's waqf (liefdadigheidsstichting). De koepel van de moskee is 23 meter hoog en de minaret is 45 meter lang. De grootste historische moskee in B & H en het is de eerste moskee ter wereld die wordt verlicht door elektriciteit.
Morica Han (karavanserai) werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 1551 en behoort tot Gazi Husrev-bey's begiftiging (wakf). Het brandde in 1957 af en het werd 1971-1974 gerestaureerd. Het had 44 kamers voor maximaal 300 personen en 70 paarden. Morica Han is de enige overgebleven karavanserai in Sarajevo.
De Sebilj is een Neo-Ottomaanse steen-en-hout fontein in het centrum van Bascarsia. De eerste Sebilj werd gebouwd door Mehmed Pasa Kukavica in 1753, maar het werd verplaatst door de Oostenrijkse architect Alexander Wittek in 1891. Locatie rond Sebilj wordt ook wel "Plein van de Duiven" genoemd.

Meest representatieve gebouw uit de Oostenrijks-Hongaarse periode, voltooid in 1896. Beroemd voorbeeld van Neo-Moorse architectuur geïnspireerd door islamitische kunst in Span en Noord-Afrika.
De keizersmoskee was de eerste moskee die door Isa-bey in Sarajevo werd gebouwd.

Kom meer te weten over Bezistan (overdekte bazaar) die werd gebouwd in dezelfde tijd als de Taslihan-stenen herberg die tijdens de Oostenrijks-Hongaarse periode werd verwoest.
De congregationele kerk van de Heilige Moeder, gebouwd in de Ottomaanse periode, is de grootste orthodoxe kerk in Sarajevo.
De kathedraal van de Heilige Haard van Jezus was een van de eerste grote Europese gebouwen in Sarajevo
Oude Joodse tempel ook bekend als Sefardische synagoge is de eerste en oudste synagoge gebouwd in Sarajevo.
Bij Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures is East het Westen en een locatie van waaruit we de uniciteit van Sarajevo echt kunnen zien.

The tour was informative and we visited lots of interesting spots. I do wish the balance between historical facts/stories and current day recommendations for places to buy souvenirs, food, cotton, ice cream etc. was skewed a little bit more towards history, but that may just be a personal preference!

on the day of departure from Sarajevo we took a 2 hour tour with a guide. the weather was really wintery, the day before it had snowed non-stop, so we got a private tour with the guide Senka who was excellent! since we had our four children with us, she adjusted the walking pace and the story to both us adults and the children. a really well spent 2 hours!
