In deze tour ontdekken we iets echt lokaals, authentieks en unieks: The Secret Marrakech! We beginnen onze wandeltocht vanaf het iconische Jemaa El Fna-plein, weven dan door de smalle straatjes van de Medina, richting de historische Joodse wijk (Mellah). Daar bezoeken we een 15e-eeuwse synagoge en verkennen we de grootste Joodse begraafplaats in Marokko. Vervolgens stoppen we bij een traditionele openbare oven (Ferran) om te zien hoe Marokkaans brood wordt gebakken met eeuwenoude methoden die generaties lang zijn doorgegeven. We dwalen vervolgens door de kleurrijke en levendige soeks van Marrakech, waar je werkende ambachtelijke winkels tegenkomt – leerbewerkers, smeden, wolververs en vele andere verborgen juweeltjes die de meeste bezoekers missen. Tot slot cirkelen we terug naar Jemaa El Fna, en sluiten we de tour af vol onvergetelijke bezienswaardigheden, verhalen en de ware essentie van Marrakech.

Dit is het zeer beroemde plein in Marokko, een plek vol leven en activiteit. Hier kun je genieten van een show van acrobaten, lokale muzikanten, slangenbezweerders... en nog veel meer. Het plein is overdag rustig en laat in de middag en in de avond wordt het drukker.
Deze synagoge dateert uit het einde van de 15e eeuw en werd gesticht door de Sefardim-joden die destijds uit Andalusië (Spanje en Portugal) werden verdreven. Het is de oudste in Marrakech en is nog steeds actief sinds de oprichting. Het herbergt ook een prachtig museum voor de joodse geschiedenis en cultuur in Marokko.
Dit is de grootste joodse begraafplaats van Marokko, met ruim 20.000 graven. Het dateert uit 1537 en lijkt in niets op de begraafplaatsen die u misschien kent! een heel bijzondere en interessante plek om te zien.
De souks van Marrakech zijn een "must-see" onderdeel van onze tour. Ze zijn zo kleurrijk en levendig, met hun kleine straatjes en kleine werkplaatsen van lokale ambachtslieden, ik weet zeker dat je versteld zult staan van hoe mooi de soeks zijn ^^

We had a private walking tour with Chafik on our very first day in Marrakech, and it was honestly the best way we could have started our trip. Chafik has incredible knowledge of both the city and Morocco’s history, but what made the experience special was how he brought everything to life in a way that felt personal and engaging. He didn’t just take us to the main historical sites, but also showed us smaller, hidden places we would have never found on our own. He was very accommodating to our pace and any personal requests, which made the tour feel tailored just for us rather than something generic. This experience really set the tone for the rest of our trip, and we walked away feeling much more connected to Marrakech. Would absolutely recommend and would 100% do it again. There’s no better way to start your time in Morocco.
We spent approximately 3 hours with Chafik just wandering the various souks in the Medina. Not really shopping for anything just meandering! He has such a love for his country and heritage and it shows! His knowledge is vast he's super flexible and was very accommodating during our time together. I highly recommend him if you want a 5 star experience!
He was fantastic and took us to all sorts of unique hidden places that we would have never seen otherwise. His English was impeccable and was very patient with all our questions. We had a great day with him and had an amazing day in seeing the sights of Marrakesh.

Today my husband and I enjoyed a two-hour guided tour of the souk with Chafik, and it was an absolutely fabulous experience. We’ve been to Marrakesh many times and have wandered the souks often, but because they’re such a labyrinth, we’d always found ourselves doing the same loops again and again. This time was completely different. Chafik took us right into the heart of the souk and far beyond, opening our eyes to areas and details we would never have discovered on our own. His knowledge of everyday Moroccan life is incredible, and he shared so many fascinating insights that truly brought the souk to life. His understanding of the history is equally impressive and was woven seamlessly into the tour. Chafik’s English is superb, which made everything easy to follow and really enhanced the whole experience.
