Ga rond het glinsterende meer naar Oishi Park. Oishi Park is de thuisbasis van velden met bloemen die zich verspreiden als een tapijt langs de oever van het meer. U wilt zeker uw camera eruit halen. Dit is een heerlijke plek om te ademen in de frisse lucht van het Japanse platteland en om het uitzicht te ontspannen.
Kubota Itchiku was een gerenommeerde kunstenaar die de traditionele weefselverftechniek van Tsujigahana nieuw leven inblazen. Tsujigahana bloeide in de Muromachi-periode (1336-1573) maar raakte toen uit de gratie. In de jaren dertig raakte hij gefascineerd door het verven van zijde en wijdde hij zijn leven aan het beheersen van de Tsujigahana-techniek. Langs de oevers van Kawaguchiko staat een museum dat aan hem is gewijd, met verschillende van zijn mooiste kimono-creaties. Je kunt zijn onvoltooide meesterwerk "Symphony of Light" zien, een stuk bestaande uit 80 kimono's die samen een afbeelding vormen van de berg Fuji. De gebouwen zelf, evenals de tuin zijn ook interessant. De gebouwen zijn gemaakt van Okinawan-koraal en kalksteen en gebouwd op Gaudi-manier, terwijl de tuinen zijn ontworpen door Itchiku Kubota zelf en zich uitstrekken vanaf de toegangspoort tot ver in de beboste hellingen achter de museumgebouwen. Een groot deel van de tuin is niet toegankelijk voor rolstoelgebruikers, maar u kunt nog steeds genieten van de overdekte tentoonstellingen van het museum, evenals van de buitenarchitectuur. (* museum is gesloten op dinsdag behalve in oktober / november, dus op dinsdag worden in plaats daarvan het Kawaguchiko-muziekbos gezien)
Een klein dorp met acht bronnen gevuld met adembenemend blauw water en vereerd als de "bronnen van de goden", waar pelgrims zichzelf in de bronnen zuiverden. Het water komt uit de sneeuw smelt van Mt. Fuji zelf en werd samen met Mt.Fuji in 2013 aangewezen als werelderfgoed.

Keita guided our great day trip from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji area. He was friendly and adaptable to my brother's needs (he uses a manual tilt 18"x 16" wheelchair). Kei was able to outline for us of the places that had wheelchair accessible bathrooms, and gave options of what we could access with a wheelchair. Alternatives were provided as my brother could not transfer out of his personal wheelchair to the museum wheelchair. When we were doubtful about getting down the steep ramp to the boat dock for the lake boat trip, Kei reassured us that the boat company staff had assisted others in a wheelchair and they successfully got him down and back up the ramp. Kei was knowledgeable about Mt. Fuji and surrounding area. The wheelchair accessible van was adequate for our needs (fit the wheelchair, and 3 passengers at the back). The tour did not include the boat trip price (1000 yen per ticket) nor lunch. We would recommend Kei for an accessible day trip to Mt. Fuji from Tokyo. Just let him know what your needs are and he can outline what your options are!

They had a wheelchair vehicle that could accommodate our son and met us at our hotel in Tokyo to take us to Mount Fuji for the day. Keita was a wonderful guide and was very friendly, helpful and informative. We had a wonderful day with a boat trip, tempura meal and various sites to explore. Highly recommended.

Great trip - I’m a fulltime wheelchair user and guide was very considerate and knowledgeable about what I could see and do. Even though Mt Fuji was covered by clouds the day we went it was still an awesome day and greeat to get out of Tokyo for the day.

Rie was absolutely an incredible host/guide. We had such a great experience and she and the driver took care of us at every step along the journey. She customized everything to our preferences and we enjoyed learning about the history of Japan and Mount Fuji. If you are in a wheelchair or have someone in your party who needs one, this is the tour for you. I would request Rie as she is the best!!!!
