The cruise, railway, mountaintop, and cable car were all great. It would have been nice to have a little more information about front about tickets and time options, but otherwise a great day!
Make the most of following on the first trip in the morning, as this way we can be more time in each place. I recommend renting trenó
We went ona 2 1/2 hrs cruise with the Fondue Chinoise Boat.We wehere greeted very friendly on to a nicly set table. Starting with a nice Salad followed by a table with freshly prepared Vegetable and of course the Fondue Chinoise Sauces all very tasty. The meet and broth was waiting to start the feast. Meet was Turky, Lamb,Pork and Beef. All in all a lovely evening with wonderfull views of Luzern.
This was a really nice excursion. Easy to find the boat, followed the time schedule. The train was right there. Really enjoyed Mt Rigi. Walked back down to the next station and caught the train to the Rigi Karlstad and down the cable car down. That was a little disappointing as being so many people crammed in the cable car.
This is one of the more dishonest travel services I've used. You walk on and there are all of these open seats on the top deck, so we walk up. The way they have you routed to the stairs you don't really notice a small sign on the wall as you round the corner that class something like Class I. Keep in mind you are not looking directly at the sign as you climb the stairs, it's only visible if you look behind you, and even then it's not obvious that first class only is on the top deck. Then the ticket-master goes around and acts like you are an idiot if you didn't know that the top deck was ONLY for first class. At this point the limited seats in the common-folk region on the lower deck are non-existent. Its all a deliberate strategy that they use to force you to upgrade to first class. I don't think I've ever seen such a blatant scam in all of the travelling we have done, it's a disgrace. Even in first class, it's not exactly luxury sailing. Think more of how many people they can cram into one deck, it sucked.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please allow us to clarify that the upper deck is reserved for 1st class passengers, and this is indicated on signage throughout the vessel, including near the stairways. However, we understand that this may not have been clearly visible in your case, and we will review the signage to ensure it is more apparent for future guests. Our intention is never to mislead or pressure anyone into upgrading. Seating in 2nd class is available on both indoor and outdoor sections of the lower deck, but we understand it can feel limited during peak times. We’re sorry if this caused any inconvenience during your trip. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into account as we strive to improve the experience for all our guests.
Check weather report day before so you can cancel and get a refund! We wasted $600 cuz it was snowing on mt rigi and we could not do anything but the cogolwheel and ferry ride !!
I liked that this is an independent tour, but could also be enjoyed as a guided tour. The only timetables that were provided was a link to the boat schedule. There were a lot of helpful people about though and we got where we needed to go. Note that you should take the cog wheel train to the top to Rigi Kulm and then you can stop at each station on the way down (1 hour between trains at each stop when we were there). You can take the tram down to Weggis from the Rigi-Kalabad-First stop. Note you have to walk 2 km down to the pier to catch the boat back. It was easily just a half-day trip for us in April, but it was cold and cloudy at the top.
Excellent! The views everywhere from the boat to the mountain top were breathtaking. Plenty of time to enjoy at your leisure
It rained the whole trip and the gondola was getting serviced and not in operation. But it looked like it could be a nice trip.
Loved that all the tickets were bundled and we could explore Mt Rigi at our own pace. Would have saved a little anxiety if Viator had let us know that the bar code is the "ticket" - all you need for the boat, cogwheel train and aerial cable car. The Viator info said it covered all the tickets and provided a complete timetable - NOT TRUE; also, wasn't sure if a Viator rep would meet us and give us physical tickets. As it turned out, it was super easy - just show the bar code; the only thing they really looked at was the number of adults it covered. (Just would have been nice if Viator had made that clear. Hint hint)
