Ervaar ongerepte schoonheid tijdens deze halfdaagse excursie naar de Briksdal-gletsjer. U vertrekt met de bus vanaf Olden en rijdt door de vallei, langs 'de kleine rode kerk', Lake Olden, kleurrijke boerderijen en verschillende watervallen. Zodra u bij Briksdal Inn aankomt, zal een prachtig pad omgeven door watervallen en bergen u naar het uitkijkpunt bij het gletsjermeer brengen waar u van deze schitterende natuurlijke schat kunt genieten. U kunt ook een 'troll-car' huren als u niet naar de gletsjer kunt wandelen of dat niet wil.

I booked this because I wanted to see a glacier on this trip. This was written as if it was flat after a sort climb AND there would be "troll cars" available to anyone needing assistance going up/down. Said cars are there when we arrived but after I used the facilities, every singe one was gone. When I asked when they'd be back, I was told 3pm (it was then 11 am). As I started climbing up the very steep, not flat mountain, I saw car after car going back down the mountain. Needless to say, I was unable to make it up to the top & see the glacier after paying a lot of money. I DID still enjoy this as what I DID see was spectacular.
The tour guide Danny was great - he went over a lot of the history and scenery of Olden. The hike up to the glacier had amazing views. We had plenty of time to walk up enjoy the view and take pictures. Highly recommend- Danny where I can get Norwegian waffle with brown cheese-which was delicious.
Can not believe what has happened. We booked this months ago for 4 of us and today 13 days before our excursion they have cancelled it with no explanation. These trips fill up fast so we’d be surprised if we can book it with someone else. Beware of what can happen

However, we would like to clarify that this was not a cancellation made without explanation or without a valid reason, nor was it cancelled last-minute. We communicated the circumstances and the valid reason for the cancellation clearly to Viator (where you booked), and the cancellation was made in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions. We sincerely regret that this may have affected your plans and that finding an alternative excursion at this stage may be more difficult. Unfortunately, circumstances can sometimes require an excursion to be cancelled, even when a booking has been made well in advance. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope you were able to find a suitable alternative for your day.
Great hike to fantastic view of Birksdal glacier. Bring water proof shell and good shoes. It is about 300m up but very manage for all!!

We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise, but we chose this excursion from Viator. It was a nice tour, lots of walking, which was fun, those who cannot walk can get some more drive and golf cart type conveyance at an extra price. We visited during the third week of July; the weather was hot, around 80 F. I thought it was close to the glacier, but it was far, far away, and nothing like Alaskan tour glaciers. The waterfall on the way was amazing, and there were other waterfalls in the mountains in the distance. This was a good place to buy souvenirs at the tour bus stop area.
Fantastic experience, would highly recommend. Very well ran from cruise port collection to return drop-off. Modern air conditioned coach to travel to the glacier with comfortable seating.
Waterfalls and Glaciers are so beautiful! I enjoyed walking from the trail head to the glacier although it was raining 1/3 of the time. I think this tour is better than the one with trolley because we can stop and take pictures anytime we want. Everywhere is pretty!
Convenient trip with plenty of time to explore the beauty of Birksdal Glacier. Bus boarded right outside the cruise gate.
The views were spectacular, but we were very disappointed with the arrangements at Birksdahl. We requested a Troll Car for our handicapped participant and were told to book it upon arrival at the starting point. On arrival we were told they are all reserved and we couldn't be accommodated. The climb was too step for our scooter, so we were unable to get to the glacier.
We must clarify that your complaint regarding the Troll Cars is not related to our tour or our arrangements. The Troll Cars are an entirely separate service, operated by a different company, and they are not included in our tour as we advertise it. We have no involvement in their reservations, availability or operation, and we do not reserve or guarantee a Troll Car for our guests.
