Beschrijving
Deze wandeling is zo ontworpen dat u een goed beeld krijgt van Edinburgh en van de geschiedenis en cultuur van de stad. De tour duurt ongeveer twee uur en brengt u langs veel bezienswaardigheden in het oude stadscentrum, dat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. Wij streven naar een informatieve maar onderhoudende tocht, zodat u een beeld krijgt van Edinburgh met de passie die het verdient.

De wandeltocht voert u op en neer door het netwerk van geplaveide straatjes en achteraf steegjes die het historische hart van de oude binnenstad van Edinburgh vormen. De tour duurt ongeveer twee uur en je kunt bezienswaardigheden verwachten zoals de St Giles Cathedral, het Mercat Cross, de George Heriot School en Edinburgh Castle (van buitenaf). Elke Gids die met ons samenwerkt, wordt sterk aangemoedigd om zijn eigen tourroute te ontwikkelen om ervoor te zorgen dat ze gepassioneerd zijn over de verhalen en geschiedenis die ze tijdens hun tour leveren. The tour was great got to wonder around the most emblematic areas of the old town of Edinburgh while Euan our guide told us all about it in a fun, digestible and informative way, perfect combination of history, stories and even some poetry. Would highly recommend.

Our tour guide was Ben .C, his passion for the tales of John Knox, St Giles, Greyfriars Bobby and others (no spoiler) is what made the tour interesting and the time fly by. Far better than following someone reading a fact sheet. Ben knew his history, in fantastic detail, blending in his own balanced views and nuanced opinions on the Scottish Reformation and encouraging us to have our own.
We had a wonderful tour around the Old Town. Ben (our guide) is obviously passionate about history and literature, and we were totally immersed in the Edinburgh’s old times, with tales about notable Scottish kings and queens, poets, writers, philosophers, economists, etc., with funny and a little dark stories in between. We learned a little bit about Edinburgh and Scottish history and it was very fascinating!
Don’t forget to bring an umbrella or a raincoat since it rained frequently and did several times during the tour; there’s not any shares of shader cover. Very interesting Tour with stories, history and cool sites. There is not too much walking & we got the history and some places we might not have found on our own and it made the whole trip more enjoyable. Great guide, Matt.
