Het Vrijheidsplein, voorheen bekend als Erivansky of Paskevich-Erivansky-plein onder keizerlijk Rusland en Beria Square en Lenin Square onder de Sovjet-Unie, ligt in het centrum van Tbilisi, aan het oostelijke uiteinde van Rustaveli Avenue.
Oud deel van de stad
De Anchiskhati-basiliek van St. Mary is de oudste nog bestaande kerk in Tbilisi, Georgië. Het behoort tot de Georgisch-orthodoxe kerk en dateert uit de zesde eeuw.
Een van de nieuwste attracties van Tbilisi, de Brug van Vrede, die in 2010 opende over de rivier de Mtkvari (ook bekend als de Kura-rivier).
Shardeni Street is een van de meest populaire en mooiste straten in Tbilisi. Deze voetgangersstraat is zo bekend dat elke gast die naar Georgië reist nooit het land verlaat zonder Shardenistraat te bezoeken.

Sergey Paradjanov was de auteur van verschillende film-meesterwerken die hem wereld lof brachten: "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1964), "The Color of Pomegranates" of "Sayat-Nova" (1969), "The Legend of Suram Fortress" ( 1985) en "Ashik-Kerib" (1988). Parajanovs bijdrage aan de filmkunst is eerst en vooral zijn originele poëtische filmtaal, die zeer gewaardeerd wordt door zijn tijdgenoten. Zijn esthetische systeem omvat ook plastische kunst, gebaseerd op tradities van Armeense, Oosterse en Europese kunst.
Een monument voor de opmerkelijke Armeense dichter en muzikant en de beroemde ashugh Sayat - Nova (Harutyun Sayadian) werd op 7 juni 2009 in Tbilisi geopend. Het beeldhouwwerk van Guya Djaparidze en Kokha Koridze ligt in de buurt van de noordelijke muur van de Armeense kerk St Kevork. In dezelfde kerk verbergde Sayat - Nova samen met andere christenen zich tijdens de aanval van Shah Aga Mohamed Kadjar in 1795. Sayat - Nova werd gedood op de drempel van die kerk en wordt daar begraven.
Op 23 juni 2012 werd in Tbilisi een nieuwe kabelbaan geopend. Het verbindt het nieuw aangelegde Rike Park, dat aan de overkant van de Mtkvari rivier van de oude stad ligt, met Narikala, het fort dat uitkijkt over de stad
De Sioni-kathedraal van de Dormition is een Georgisch-orthodoxe kathedraal in Tbilisi, de hoofdstad van Georgië. Na een middeleeuwse Georgische traditie van het benoemen van kerken naar bepaalde plaatsen in het Heilige Land, draagt de Sioni-kathedraal de naam van de berg Zion in Jeruzalem.
Kartlis Deda is een monument in de hoofdstad Tbilisi, Georgia. Het standbeeld werd opgericht op de top van de Sololaki-heuvel in 1958, het jaar dat Tbilisi zijn 1500-jarig jubileum vierde. De prominente Georgische beeldhouwer Elguja Amashukeli ontwierp de twintig meter aluminium figuur van een vrouw in Georgische nationale klederdracht.
De vrijdagmoskee (Jumah in het Arabisch) ligt in het hart van de oude stad van Tbilisi. Niet alleen de architectuur is uniek en je zult je waarschijnlijk niet realiseren dat het een moskee is op het eerste gezicht, maar het is ook een van de weinige moskeeën in de wereld, waar Shias en Soennieten samen bidden. De moskee staat open voor bezoekers van alle religies of overtuigingen.
Rike Park is een openbaar recreatiegebied in Tbilisi, populair bij gezinnen, toeristen en bewoners die een wandeling maken
Het gebouw, ook wel de Georgische synagoge genoemd, werd tussen 1895 en 1903 in een eclectische stijl gebouwd door Georgische joden uit Akhaltsikhe die eind 19e eeuw naar Tbilisi zijn gemigreerd. Daarom wordt de synagoge ook wel "synagoge van de mensen van Akhaltsikhe" genoemd.
Het beeldhouwwerk van een man met een hoorn in Tbilisi, gemodelleerd naar een oud Colchiaans beeldje, wordt liefkozend aangeduid als "tamada".

A highly enjoyable afternoon with our guide Khato! In fact, I’d even go as far as saying this is probably one of the best walking tours that I’ve done during my travels. Would definitely recommend if you’re only in Tbilisi for a short time. Bring a good pair of shoes though, as there is a lot walking - three hours worth to be exact!

I really enjoyed the walking tour of Old Tbilisi with, also known as “Sushi” — a fun nickname she told us is easy to remember, just like the food! 😄 Oksana is an excellent guide. Her English is perfect, and she is very knowledgeable about Georgia, its history, culture and traditions. She took us to all the interesting and important places in the Old Town and gave us lots of useful information, not only about the sights but also about Georgian food, restaurants and transportation. She was friendly, helpful and happy to answer all our questions, which made the tour both interesting and enjoyable.
