Elke regio van India heeft zijn unieke straatvoedsel en Delhi is daarop geen uitzondering. Bezoek onze favoriete verkopers in Old Delhi en probeer de lokale specialiteiten chole bature, dahi bhalla en aloo chat, maar ook parathas, lassi en de zeer zoete maar heerlijke jalebis en het lokale equivalent van rijstpudding en brood- en boterpudding. Al deze gerechten zijn vegetarisch, maar vleeseters hebben tegen het einde van de tour de mogelijkheid om Indiase gebakken kip te proberen in de bruisende wijk Matia Mahal. Naast het proeven van het beste straatvoedsel van Old Delhi, zullen we ook wat sightseeing doen terwijl we de grootste specerijenmarkt van Azië verkennen, een wandeling maken langs Chandni Chowk en stoppen om de imposante Jama Masjid te bewonderen. We zullen de drukte van de smalle straatjes absorberen terwijl we per riksja verschillende locaties bezoeken. **Houd er rekening mee dat de Spice Market op zondag veel minder activiteit heeft. Voor de tour van 13.00 uur is er ongeveer 50% minder activiteit en voor de tour van 17.00 uur is deze gesloten.

De tour begint bij Gate 1, van Rajiv Chowk Metro Station in Connaught Place.
Gasten krijgen de kans om dahi bhalla (een traditionele snack op basis van yoghurt), aloo chaat, paratha en jalebi te proeven, die een geweldige weergave zijn van de vele unieke smaken in de Indiase keuken
Bezoek de grootste kruidenmarkt van Azië en proef chole bhature (een traditioneel Punjabi-gerecht)
Bekijk de Jama-moskee, het hart van de islam in Delhi, van buitenaf en proef gemarineerde kip. Sluit de tour af met heerlijke lokaal gemaakte desserts zoals kheer (Indiase rijstpudding) en shahi tukda (brood gedrenkt in melk en noten, zoals broodpudding). Als je nog wat ruimte in je maag hebt, kun je dit alles wegspoelen met wat verfrissende lassi.

The food tour in Old Delhi was perfectly organized, with stops at some excellent places, and the food was outstanding. Naresh, my guide, was exceptional — his knowledge and kindness go hand in hand! Our tour with Naresh was amazing. He took us to many places we would have never discovered on our own and gave us a truly unique experience of real street food life in Old Delhi. The food was great, the atmosphere was quite unique and our guide, Naresh, was fantastic! He was full of information about not only the food but the area as well. Would definitely recommend for the unique experience and delicious food.
