Prikkel je zintuigen door te wandelen in het midden van bruisende bazaars met oogverblindend handwerk, textiel, uniek eten en uiteindelijk vind je je weg naar de grootste kruidenmarkt van Azië. U vindt de beste "Lassi" en "Masala Chai" punten ook. Als u lokale gerechten wilt proeven, hoeft u geen dure voedseltours in Old Delhi te boeken, vraag het gewoon aan uw gids. Deze tour is bedoeld voor liefhebbers van erfgoed en cultuur, bewonderaars van oude architectuur en ook voor degenen die proberen te gluren in het lokale leven, spiritualiteit en levensonderhoud.

Al snel lopen we 20 minuten naar het 400 jaar oude historische Old Delhi. We proberen de buis OF TUK-TUK. We betreden deze prachtige imposante 400 jaar oude moskee gebouwd door de grote keizer "Shahjahan". Dezelfde man die Taj Mahal bouwde. De toegangsprijs van de moskee is INR 450 / - Per persoon, dus naar binnen gaan is optioneel, dus als je niet wilt betalen & binnenkomen, neem dan foto's van buiten en we kunnen de wandeling voortzetten.
We betreden deze verborgen erfgoedwijk van "Goldsmith" van "Mughal"-keizers. Ze werden gehuisvest door de "Mughal"-keizers om handgemaakte sieraden voor hen te maken. Wat hen onderscheidt, is dat ze met stenen ingelegde sieraden maken. Alsof ze edelstenen als "Lapis Lazuli", Amber in de juwelen plaatsen. Ze zijn heel gastvrij om je hun geheimen van het maken van sieraden te laten zien. Ontdek ook het maken van foto's van hun "Havelis" (erfgoedherenhuizen)
Geniet van het wandelen door de levendige, kleurrijke straten waar in enorme hoeveelheden trouwkleding en kledij wordt verkocht. De hele straat is levendig met lokale trouwkopers en geniet ervan om lokaal, veilig straatvoedsel te proberen.
Verken de grootste specerijenmarkt van Azië en loop tussen de grote zakken met specerijen die de lokale families tentoonstellen voor aankoopdoeleinden. Geniet van de drukte van de groothandel en geniet ook van de geur van de kruiden die de lucht vullen. Als je meer wilt weten over de Indiase kruiden, dan nemen we je mee naar een groot kruidendepot, waar ze gedetailleerd uitleg geven over de kruiden. En je maakt kans op enkele kruiden-/theezakjes van hoge kwaliteit.

Jai Singh is an amazing guide. Deeply knowledgeable on local History and traditions he takes you on a journey through small alleys and into old homes. He clearly loves showing old Delhi to his visitors. Highly highly recommend !

If you only do one tour while in Delhi, definitely do this one. Definitely the most worth it, because you will discover amazing places that you wouldn't have discovered on your own.

With so many tour options, I was fortunate to have selected Mr. Jai Singh. Among other things, he was an absolute gentleman, a Delhi historian, an overall friendly and affable person to be around who was willing to push the limits to REALLY show me the underbelly of Old Delhi. Positives: *He really knows Delhi and the backstory for each of the places visited. *He listens to you! I provided him with a list of things I wanted to see and he delivered. And, had add-on's and surprises on top of that. *Hey, I'm a first timer here. HE offered hotel pickup. Thank you *He reads the room well. He displays a genuine interest when I was tired or needed a break as well as pushing the pace when I was ready. And, I SAW Old Delhi like I hadn't in my previous two visits. *Although I'm sure it's part of the cost of booking with him, he OFFERED to pay for miscellaneous items out of his own pocket . He paid for drinks when we were thirsty; out of the generosity of his own heart, he paid for the snacks and Haveli visit. What an absolute gentleman! Mr. Jai Singh was in large part, a reason why I thought India was so great. *We visited a Haveli! Don’t know what a haveli is? Book w/ Mr. Jai Singh for this quiet retreat. Negatives: None On the fence but not enough to drop his score: *It became obvious early on in my trip that guides, drivers, anyone in general had some sort of agreement with different vendors. This trip was not about shopping for me. Yet, every guide including Mr. Singh took me to a store to 'view.' I left with a 130.00 USD scarf which I did not intend on purchasing which my wife ended up loving so there's that....

From meeting Jai and the quick tuk tuk ride to the mosque, we knew we were in good hands. His knowledge, manner and understanding of what would appeal to us made the whole morning truly delightful. Jai was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, and personable, and generous. I mentioned that I was interested in my photography so he went out of his way multiple times to find me unique “hidden gem” spots. He helped me track down my ancestral home. The tour was meant to be 3h and he spent an extra hour just out of a desire to go above and beyond. Just superb! Highly Reccomend.
