Gregory Lake werd in 1873 opgericht door de toenmalige gouverneur van het Britse tijdperk, Sir William Gregory, zogenaamd met het doel elektriciteit te leveren. Het meer werd na de aanleg echter vooral gebruikt voor recreatie en recreatie. Het Victoria Park is een openbaar park in Nuwara Eliya, naast het postkantoor Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka. Oorspronkelijk was het park het onderzoeksgebied van Hakgala Botanical Garden. Het park werd formeel genoemd in 1897 ter ere van het diamanten jubileum van koningin Victoria. Het park werd opgericht met de aanplant van de eerste boom, een eik, door een bezoekende Duitse prinses. De Nanu Oya-rivier loopt door het park en creëert een aantal kleine meren. Een aantal zeldzame vogelsoorten zijn te vinden in het park. Aan het einde van het park is een kleine speelplaats voor kinderen en een miniatuur berijdbare spoorlijn.

Ramboda Falls, op 109 m (357 ft) hoog, is de 11e hoogste waterval van Sri Lanka en een van de hoogste watervallen ter wereld. Het is gelegen in het gebied Pussellawa, aan de snelweg A5 bij Ramboda Pass.

I went on a full day tour to Nuwara Eliya. Driver Shantha was really great ✨ He was attentive, kind and gave us lots of information ✏️ Also, they adjusted the location according to where I wanted to go, which was really good ☺️ He pulled us over at the scenic point and was very kind 👍 Driving is also very safe and wonderful. Getting around the car was more comfortable than anything else, and the long journeys were quick! It was a really great day! The tea plantations I saw in Nuwara Eliya were also spectacular. Chunugu from Mahawala tours got me on the right train/seat for a brilliant train ride with stunning scenery. Great trip. He collected me at Nanu Oya for the rest of the drive, no problems. Would have liked to have spent more time in Nuwara Eliya & if I had of done a little more research & asked I'm sure I could have, so no fault of Chunuga. Nice tea factory on the way back. Good use of limited time for a trip into the hills.

Nalinda was friendly and professional. He was also very flexible - happy to stop whenever we wanted and to change the tour around a little to suit our needs . His English was very good .The train trip was stunning and the visit to the tea factory was interesting. It was a full day and we enjoyed it all . Would recommend it .
I loved the train ride from Kandy through the tea plantations. Book a seat at the back of the train, but make sure it is on the right hand side, to get the best views and pictures. You will find that most of the tourist are in this section of the train. What a unique experience this was,
It was a relaxing train ride as I booked 2nd class (reserved seats). Throughout the ride, there were many beautiful views for the camera. Best if you can get seats on the right side of the train (more views and no morning sun). The train was not travelling very fast, so if you are the adventure type, feel free to open the train door and take photos or even selfie like me.
