De Belfast Eclectic City Centre Walking Tour is de meest populaire ervaring langs #theMartiWay. En behandelt de geschiedenis, niet alleen van de periode die bekend staat als de problemen, maar ook de architectuur, straatkunst en mensen, en alles van het industriële erfgoed tot de moderne hi-tech en geavanceerde engineering. Vertrek vanaf het stadhuis van Belfast en eindigend in het Cathedral Quarter. We zullen onderweg enkele van de gebouwen van Belfast ontdekken die de stad zo'n mooie en unieke ruimte maken. U zult horen over de ontwikkeling van de Memorial Garden tot de noodlottige HMS Titanic.
We gaan de kleine smalle straatjes in, waar Belfast werd geboren. En hoor over de opstandige lokale bevolking zoals The United Irishmen, en bekijk veel Street Art die de geschiedenis vanaf zijn geboorte vertelt. En waar nu de lokale bevolking en bezoekers zich mengen in hun vele Gastro Bars en Resturants.
Als we het Beacon of Hope-beeldhouwwerk bereiken. Luister naar de betekenis ervan en ontdek wat zich verder langs de lagan-rivier bevindt, zoals de Big Fish en de poort naar de Titanic Quarter.
Als we langs de Big Fish komen, hoor je hoe de geschiedenis op de weegschaal staat geschreven. En strompel je verder naar de Cathedral Quarter. Het Titanic-kwartier bekijken. Slechts 15 minuten lopen aan de andere kant van de rivier.
En het is in de Cathedral Quarter dat we meer van de internationale en lokale straatkunst zullen zien. Hoor hoe Belfast en zijn mensen samenkomen in Vrede en Verzoening
Terwijl we rond de kathedraal lopen, hoor je over de bouw ervan en over de ontwikkeling die nu in dit gebied plaatsvindt.
En hier zullen we uw introductie tot Belfast op St. Annes Square afronden. Een plein beschreven als het antwoord van Belfast op een Europees plein met zijn vele restaurants en appartementen erboven.

A first visit to Belfast with my partner I was fortunate to find myself on an in depth walking tour with the Marti Way. What an experience. A font of historical knowledge, Marti tailored our tour to give a true sense of Belfast, past, present and future. Keeping his tour party small it felt like a stroll around the city with a mate. Marti delivered it in an honest but ultimately positive manner. Thanks again Marti and I’m sure our paths will cross again on our next visit.
What can I say about this lovely man. His knowledge of his city is second to none. This is not your average tour , so much more and personalised to what you want to do . We spent 4 hours with marti, and felt like we were with a friend. We shared beer and chat along the way and learned and saw so much of this beautiful city that marti is filled with hope for . Yet another great experience. This is the second time that I took the tour with Marti. Last time was with my family and this time was to introduce a friend to the city. Marti tailored the trip, going out of his way to focus on areas important to us. As a Belfast native, living abroad for my adult life, I am delighted to see the progression of my home city. I am sure this is not the last time that I will be on the Marti Way! I recommend for all.

If you are looking to discover a different view on Belfast other than The Troubles history then this is for you. Marti was a great in weaving us through the city for 3 hours and providing history bits that linked Belfast to its past, what is going on now and how its sees it future. We are started at City Hall and finished in the Cathedral Quarter where the arts scene is alive and well. Thanks Marti!

Marti was a warm and welcoming tour guide who was clearly very attuned to the various interests of those on the tour. We particularly enjoyed the thoughtful way the tour was put together, which was evidently a blend of typical stop offs and areas he felt would interest the group. Marti pointed out lots along the journey and built up the story of Belfast in an in-depth but very accessible way. During the tour Marti took us for a brief stop to a traditional pub called The John Hewitt, which we were delighted to discover was hosting a traditional band that evening. We returned to the pub to enjoy the music, which really put the icing on the cake of a wonderful day. Thank you Marti and all the best ☺️

Marti's tour challenged what I thought I new about the troubles. His attitude of hope and positivity for the future underpins all the "information " he provides throughout the tour. Great tour, Marti was a interesting and entertaining guide, showed is all of Belfast City. Made us want to stay longer to explore all the places he showed us.
