Uw Expert chauffeur- Gids vindt de perfecte uitkijkplek terwijl u in alle comfort ontspant. Uw noorderlichtavontuur begint op het moment dat onze ervaren Gids u ophaalt bij de door u gekozen ophaallocatie in Reykjavík, rijdend in een speciaal uitgeruste 4×4 super jeep die is ontworpen voor de komende reis. Zodra iedereen aan boord is, laten we de gloed van de stad achter ons en wagen we ons in de uitgestrekte, rustige duisternis van het IJslandse platteland. Terwijl we de lucht afzoeken naar de Aurora Borealis, kan de route ons langs enkele van de adembenemende natuurlijke bezienswaardigheden van het land brengen - verborgen in de schaduw, maar onthuld door het scherpe oog en de kennis van uw Gids. Door langs minder bereisde landelijke wegen te reizen, ontsnappen we aan de drukte en genieten we van een betere kans om het noorderlicht in al zijn schittering te zien, samen met de serene schoonheid van de nachtelijke hemel van IJsland.
Als de omstandigheden er goed uitzien, kiest uw Gids de perfecte uitkijkplek op basis van de weersvoorspellingen van de avond. Dan is het tijd om te settelen en te wachten tot de natuurshow zich ontvouwt. Het noorderlicht danst meestal zo’n 100 kilometer boven het aardoppervlak – een buitenaards vertoon dat in de buurt van de magnetische noordpool wordt geboren. Het zien van linten van kleur die door de lucht vegen voelt bijna onaards, alsof de kosmos zelf schildert over de nacht. Zorg ervoor dat u zich warm kleedt, want de IJslandse nachtlucht kan stevig zijn. Een fleecetrui of een van onze gezellige dekens houdt de kou weg terwijl je wacht. Om het moment nog geruststellender te maken, serveren we je een dampende kop cacao in combinatie met een zoete chocolade bite. En wanneer het noorderlicht verschijnt, zul je het niet alleen zien – je hebt de herinnering voor altijd vastgelegd. Onze gidsen maken foto’s elke keer als het noorderlicht zich openbaart, zodat je met je eigen foto onder de gloeiende hemel naar huis gaat.
We eindigen het avontuur met een drop-off in Reykjavík vanaf uw oorspronkelijke ophaallocatie. Houd er rekening mee dat het noorderlicht natuurlijke verschijnselen zijn die moeilijk te voorspellen zijn, maar onze gidsen doen er alles aan om de beste kansen om ze te zien te garanderen.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
- Vergeet niet dat u verantwoordelijk bent voor het bijwerken van uw ophaallocatie ten minste 48 uur voor uw tour. - Ophaaltijden voor Magical Auroras zijn als volgt : 25 aug - 14 sept : 21 : 30 (9 : 30pm) 15 sept - 14 mrt : 20 : 30 (8 : 30pm) 15 maart - 15 apr : 21 : 30 (9 : 30pm) Je vindt de daadwerkelijke ophaaltijd in het boekingsproces en op je uiteindelijke voucher. Het ophalen kan tot 30 minuten duren, afhankelijk van de verkeersomstandigheden en uw locatie. Uw geduld wordt zeer gewaardeerd.

- Ervaring in een kleine groep beperkt tot maximaal 16 deelnemers per gids
- Een matige hoeveelheid van het lopen is betrokken, goede wandelschoenen worden ten zeerste aanbevolen.
- Warme buitenkleding is essentieel, ook waterdichte kleding, muts en handschoenen.
- Deze tour is afhankelijk van het weer en is als zodanig onderhevig aan last-minute annuleringen (tot 18.15 uur op de dag)
- Als u het noorderlicht niet ziet, of als uw tour wordt geannuleerd vanwege slecht weer, kunt u gratis omboeken voor een andere avond op een minibustour (afhankelijk van beschikbaarheid). Neem contact op met de lokale leverancier om te boeken. De contactgegevens staan vermeld op uw voucher.

This was a great. Our guide (H) really made the experience. He was adept at handling the vehicle confidently off-road through the snow, was passionate and knowledgeable about the science of northern lights, took great photos of the group and even told funny jokes. We saw an amazing show of northern lights and would definitely recommend.

The super jeep experience is totally worth it. The tour guide Mr H was great and very knowledgeable of the best spots and timing. He took us high on the mountains where there was a cloud opening and got some of the best lights of the season even when cloud coverage was very bad and snowy. During the same week we had booked a small tour with a different company on a small bus and it didn’t had the versatility that this tour had.

Tour guide was creative and honest about conditions. He found a spot for us to see lights even w bad conditions. Courteous and funny. Highly recommend
We were cancelled the original night due to weather, which happens, so booked on the following night, timings was advised to be at pick up 15 minutes early, the arrival was within this but you MUST be early. We were taken out the city and were told to be patient, it does not just happen and knew it was not guaranteed, went to a couple of different spots, but the driver felt where we stopped finally we had a high chance, he served Hot chocolate, biscuits and Vodka if you wanted it whilst we waited, we saw the Northern lights, had plenty of time to explore and watch and was never rushed, had some pictures taken which we had to look online to obtain but these were free also. The guide explained everything, advised it was not guaranteed, was patient and gave us some explanations on what we were looking for. Very succesful and enjoyable evening.

This is a great tour. Hjortur is a pro, he knows how to find the lights if the are happening. I would highly recommend. Plus, it's a cool ride.

I did this tour 2 nights in a row. First the day I landed (27/1/26) with tour guide ‘Buck’. He was brilliant. It was a very cloudy night, so he went off roading to try and find us some lights. This is why I booked this tour, over the big bus. We were lucky that we saw the lights, but it wasn’t the dancing experience I was hoping for. That’s why I booked another tour. I was given 10% off from the company due to being a returner. The next night I was with tour guide Klemmi. Klemmi was lovely and very informative. We saw the lights within a few minutes. He then drove us to a spot to wait. Around 23:10, Aurora chose to dance. It was incredible!!. Seeing the lights dance was something I dreamed off! Thank you to both guides. They were both great in their own ways.
