Op Utah Beach stap je in een echte Duitse bunker die nu een museum van wereldklasse is. Hier raakten Amerikaanse laarzen voor het eerst Frans zand op 6 juni 1944. Binnen vind je een van de slechts zes B-26 bommenwerpers die nog bestaan en hoor je verhalen van de soldaten die de geschiedenis veranderden.
Na een lichte lunch is het tijd voor de volgende activiteit - klimmen naar de top van 100 - voet kliffen om historische inslagkraters en betonnen bunkers nog steeds getekend door het conflict te spotten. Geallieerde Rangers beklommen deze steile rotswanden onder intens vijandelijk vuur om de Duitse posities het zwijgen op te leggen. Als je hier staat, wind in je gezicht, komt de moed van die soldaten echt tot leven.
Onder de klif ligt Omaha Beach, waar de golven nu rustig kabbelen op het zand dat de hevigste gevechten van D-Day zag. Daarboven strekken witte kruizen zich uit over een verzorgd gazon. Je loopt tussen de graven, leest namen en kijkt uit over het strand waar deze soldaten alles gaven.

This was a great tour to historic places. The guide shared a lot of background history and guided us through the locations well. It was a long day but the comfort of the tour bus allowed rest, relaxation and conversation.

Thelma is an expert when it comes to Normandy and its history. She was also able to keep it very entertaining on the long bus rides and made it fun and comfortable for everyone. I think the only low point was the lunch, where the chicken breast was very dry.

Thelma was a GREAT guide, very informative on everything that happened around Normandy in 1944. I am a US Veteran and she told us things that I didnt know, she was very personable with all of us on the tour. It is a very humbling experience learning about these military men/boys who made the ultimate sacrifice for Europe and the world for that matter. It is a long day so be prepared! I would definitely recommend this tour.

Such a wonderful moving experience. Thelma was an amazing tour guide who knew all about world war 2 history. Visited Utah beach and museum, Omaha beach, pont du lac and the cemetery. Would highly recommend. Nice lunch as well.

Raymond was an excellent tour guide. The day was well-paced with a rest stop about halfway. The bus ride was comfortable. The museum and visits to the site were very educational and it was amazing to see the sites in person. The last stop at the cemetery was very moving and we were able to see the retiring of the colors.
