Al khor is de 2e grote stad van Qatar, in Al khor bezoeken de reizigers de oude haven waar ze de oude stijl boten zien die ze vroeger gebruikten om te vissen en nog steeds gebruiken ze de houten boten om te vissen.
Purple Island, gelegen in het noordoosten van Qatar in de buurt van Al Khor, is een rustige natuurlijke plek die bekend staat om zijn prachtige mangroven, levendige vogels en ondiepe lagunes. Perfect voor outdoor liefhebbers, het biedt mogelijkheden om te kajakken, vogels kijken, en rustige wandelingen te midden van schilderachtige landschappen. Het eiland is ook historisch belangrijk, ooit een centrum voor de productie van oude kleurstoffen, waardoor het zijn unieke naam heeft gekregen.
Zubara Fort, gelegen in het noordwesten van Qatar, is een historisch woestijnfort gebouwd in 1938 door Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani. Oorspronkelijk een militaire post, is het sindsdien omgetoverd tot een museum dat het rijke culturele erfgoed van Qatar toont. Het fort heeft dikke muren, opvallende uitkijktorens en een centrale binnenplaats, die allemaal de traditionele Qatarese architectuur vertegenwoordigen. Vlakbij ligt de archeologische site Al Zubarah, die op de UNESCO-lijst staat, en die ruïnes van een oude parel- en handelsstad onthult.
Jumail Village is een verlaten vissersdorp gelegen aan de noordwestkust van Qatar. Ooit een bloeiende nederzetting, staat het dorp nu in puin, en biedt bezoekers een kijkje in het traditionele Qatarese leven voor de snelle modernisering van het land. De site is de thuisbasis van afbrokkelende huizen, moskeeën en andere structuren, waardoor het een rustige maar suggestieve plek is voor geschiedenisliefhebbers en fotografen die het verleden van Qatar willen verkennen.

I had a one day tour with Muzzi - he drove me and my mom to all sightseeing spots he could think of. I was surprised in the variety of the impressions - from historic places to beautiful landscapes and last but not least seeing the desert. The camel race area is a must see. Muzzi explained everything and he served as a perfect host throughout the whole day.
Wonderful experience, very positive and interesting driver. Places on a trip are good as well as drive in a car. I recommend it to everyone
It was a beautiful experience. The locations are beautiful and very photogenic, not crowded at all, we were almost alone at all the locations. The driver was absolutely amazing and answered all the questions we had. Would absolutely recommend!

It was amazing, the tour guide is really interesting he gave us many recomendations and learned some croatian sayings, we explained our history and he explained Qatar’s history, really educational, would reccomend!
Tour guides are really nice, kind and know a lot about Qatar. Trip was very nice, we saw the Mangrove forest, Purple island, abandoned villages and the fortress. I would go again on this trip.

I had booked this as a solo traveler, but made it part of a shared trip (i.e. other groups could be added to my tour). Nobody else added, so at the last minute the tour operator told me that it would be a private tour and tried to charge me 3x the price. My only other option was to go on a 4-hour shared tour of Doha, which is what I did. That was a decent tour, but not what I signed up for. Asking for 3x the price just because nobody else signed up wasn't fair--I shouldn't get charged more just because nobody else signed up for the tour, as that's not my fault. As a result, I never saw this part of Qatar. The substitute 4-hour tour of Doha was the same as what many others offer (and I had already booked another Viator tour of Doha), so I made the best of a bad situation. If you really want to go on this tour...this may not be your best option.

Our guide Arum picked us up on time in a comfortable vehicle at the hotel in Doha, and then we first went via Al Khor, where we briefly visited an old fishing port, to the mangrove forests in the northwest, where we had the opportunity to explore part of the nature reserve on a wooden jetty. Afterwards we drove further northeast to the fortress of Al Zubara. Here we had ample opportunity to explore the fortress and the interesting museum (was included in the price). Afterwards we stopped at a larger excavation site where an ancient settlement of Qatari pearl divers is gradually being uncovered. Then we went back to Doha. We would particularly like to praise our great guide Arum, who has a huge historical, social and general knowledge of Qatar and has provided us with information in a polite, unobtrusive and entertaining way - highly recommended! Overall a nice four-hour tour where you could learn a lot about the country. Not recommended for children, though, because maybe not spectacular enough.
