Pick-up is beschikbaar bij uw hotel of elke locatie binnen de Muscat gebied. Je reis begint met een bezoek aan het historische Nizwa Fort en het bruisende Nizwa Souq, gevolgd door een stop bij het charmante Al Hamra dorp. Van daaruit gaat u naar Jebel Shams, bekend als de Grand Canyon van Oman, waar u kunt genieten van een schilderachtige fotostop op de top (geen wandelen). Na het adembenemende uitzicht op de bergen, rijd je terug naar Muscat. Let op: De Jebel Shams tour is de langste dagtrip in Oman, en biedt een aantal van de meest spectaculaire berglandschappen van het land.

Ophalen ergens in Muscat gebied dan rijden van Muscat naar nizwa duurt ongeveer 2 uur
Nizwa Souq, een lokale markt met een verscheidenheid aan goederen, waaronder sieraden, aardewerk, vis en vlees. De lijst gaat verder! Daarna vertrekken we naar Al Hamra om het dorp te bezoeken waar we kunnen ervaren hoe de lokale bevolking in de oudere tijden een levensstijl creëert. Na deze korte rondleiding gaan we verder naar Misfah al Abryeen, een werkelijk ongerept dorp dat zich aan de voet van Jebel Shams nestelt. Hier krijgt u het grote Falaj-watersysteem te zien dat water levert aan de nabijgelegen vegetatie. Er zijn tal van gemarkeerde wandelpaden door het hele dorp die worden aanbevolen om de tijd te nemen en te verkennen.
We vertrekken vanuit Muscat naar Nizwa, de oude hoofdstad van Oman. We brengen een bezoek aan het beroemde fort Nizwa. Tegenwoordig is het fort een museum dat de geschiedenis van het fort en de omgeving laat zien. Als je door het fort loopt, krijg je een fantastisch uitzicht op de oude stad en de nabijgelegen bergen. Dit indrukwekkende fort was een basis die door het leger werd gebruikt om de zwaarste aanvallen en belegeringen af te weren.
Vanuit al hamra village ga je naar Jebel Shams, bekend als de Grand Canyon van Oman, waar je geniet van een schilderachtige fotostop op de top (geen wandelen). Na het adembenemende uitzicht op de bergen, rijd je terug naar Muscat. Let op: De Jebel Shams tour is de langste dagtrip in Oman, en biedt een aantal van de meest spectaculaire berglandschappen van het land.
Vervolgens rijden we naar de Jebel Shams Mountain. Vervolgens nemen we je mee op een kleine rondleiding in een klein museum in het kleine oude dorp AL Hamra. De lokale bevolking zal je onder andere de traditionele Omaanse levensstijl in het dorp laten zien.
Na de reis geniet u van een schilderachtige rit terug naar Muscat, die ongeveer 3 uur duurt.

I had a great day, travelling alone. Mohammed was an excellent guide, very informative. We left Muscat at 7am and arrived in Nizwa in time to catch the end of the Friday goat market - well worth seeing. The souq was interesting and helpful to have a guide then sufficient time to look round the fort. The drive to the canyon view point is spectacular as is the canyon, amazing views. The village of Al Hamra is well worth visiting, more beautiful views and interesting fauna and irrigation system. Lunch was excellent at a local restaurant, reasonably priced. Altogether an excellent day, we were out for 11 hours.

We went on a wonderful trip to Nizwa and Jebel Shams with our perfect guide Said Al kiyumi. Said told us a lot of interesting information on our way and during sightseeing. Also he took some great pictures of us. We didn't rush through sights but rather comfortably explored the area. This full day trip is totally worth the money as the nature and the historical heritage are spectacular. It is hard to visit Jebel Shams on your own so it is better to go with an experienced driver and a prepared car for a safe ride. It was an amazing experience. Said Al Kiyumi texted the day before to introduce himself. He arrived promptly in a clean, luxurious, air conditioned car, well stocked with bottled water. On our way to Nizwa he gave us the historical details about the fort and soqu. He’s well spoken, witty and with a good sense of humor. He anticipated our needs and ensured we saw all the sights ; never feeling rushed. We look forward to exploring more of Oman with him.
