NIEUW (echt LLT-product) Vanuit uw hotel in Beiroet, met een glimlach die u 's ochtends om 08:15 uur ophaalt voor een rit naar uw eerste must-see-stop, heeft u bijna 1.15 uur om de beroemde JEITA GROTTOS te verkennen dat is een systeem van twee afzonderlijke, maar onderling verbonden, karstische kalksteengrotten met een totale lengte van bijna 10 kilometer.
Dan ga je verder met je volgende belangrijke bezoek, het opmerkelijke verbazingwekkende beeld van de Maagd Maria in HARISSA met de auto over de berg en verken je het panoramische uitzicht op de baai van JOUNIEH en een heleboel prachtige landschappen,
Daarna zult u genieten van het rijden met de belangrijkste kabelbaan van Harissa naar Jounieh, waar de ervaren chauffeur op u zal wachten om door te gaan naar uw volgende belangrijke bezoek aan Byblos of, als de kabelbaan gesloten is, u met de auto verder gaat.
Begin je 1,5 uur durende rondleiding door de belangrijke locatie op de UNESCO Werelderfgoedlocatie van de prachtige Fenicische stad BYBLOS, een van de oudste continu bewoonde steden ter wereld, je zult genieten van het wandelen aan de jachthavenzijde naar het kasteel en de souk.
Dan heb je de optie om het kruisvaarderkasteel in Byblos te betreden, dat bekend stond als het kasteel van Gibelet, het grenst aan de Fenicische archeologische vindplaats met de ruïnes van de tempel van Baalat Gebal en de tempel van de obelisken. gebouwd door de kruisvaarders in de 12e eeuw uit inheemse kalksteen en de overblijfselen van Romeinse structuren. De voltooide structuur was omgeven door een gracht. Het behoorde tot de Genuese familie Embriaco, wiens leden de heren van Gibelet waren. Saladin veroverde de stad en het kasteel in 1188 en demonteerde de muren gedeeltelijk in 1190. Later heroverden de kruisvaarders Byblos en herbouwden de vestingwerken van het kasteel in 1197. In 1369 moest het kasteel een aanval afweren van Cypriotische schepen uit Famagusta. Het kasteel van Byblos heeft historische gebouwen voor buren onderscheiden. Vlakbij staan een paar Egyptische tempels, het Fenicische koninklijke necropool en het Romeinse amfitheater.
Na het kasteel komt u in de oude souk van Byblos, een oude markt waar u bij veel lokale winkels antiek, souvenirs, lokale ambachten en diverse andere merchandise kunt kopen, het is een van de beste plekken in Libanon en de souk is nooit leeg van mensen. Er zijn ook gezellige bars en cafés bezaaid langs de wandeling. Het is ook relatief klein en een wandeling waard om de verschillende steegjes en oude locaties te ontdekken, want dit is een plek waar je nooit genoeg van krijgt. Dit deel van de stad is een verzameling oude muren (sommige middeleeuwse) overlappende eigenschappen en intrigerende helft -ruins.
Daarna ga je naar een traditioneel restaurant om je mediterrane Libanese gerechten te nuttigen.
Na uw lunch vertrekt uw ervaren chauffeur naar Beiroet waar hij u op uw locatie zal afzetten.

I had big expectations for the tour and Harake, the driver, achieved to meet all of them and even more. The tour is great, we had a great experience and the guide Harake made everything possible for us to enjoy ythe day. Very detailed explanation in the grotto which also helped us notice things which we would have otherwise missed. 100% recommended.

What an amazing, well spent day :) It started by having traditional lebanese breakfast from a bakery, eating it on the way to Jeita Grotto with a beautiful view to the mountains, experiencing nature’s charms in the Grottos, observing the breathtaking view of Harissa, having fun around Byblos and finishing with some tips from the guide. Great tour, Harake was a lovely driver and guide. We could focus completely on enjoying the sights and the experience while he took warmly care of us. Harake could answer any kind of questions we would have - from historical to practical things. We did the all inclusive tour, pre-paid for the sights and the food, and I believe that was a good option in order to avoid waiting times and discussions about currencies.
