Je chauffeur en gids halen je om 9.00 uur op bij je hotel om de Nha Trang Countryside Tour te starten. Het kost ons een korte rit door de stad naar het platteland. Je zult het landelijke leven van de lokale bevolking ervaren. Onze eerste stop is het Pagoda-weeshuis; Deze site beschermt en verzorgt meer dan 120 verlaten, verweesde of straatkinderen. Ze variëren van enkele maanden tot 9 jaar. De kinderen van het weeshuis worden opgevangen door een groep boeddhistische nonnen en vrijwilligers. Hun doel is om de kinderen een veilige en zorgzame omgeving te bieden die hun tegenslagen vermindert en hun leven een groter doel en zin geeft. Als privé-organisatie probeert het weeshuis zijn kinderen te voorzien van voedsel, onderdak, gezondheid en onderwijs. De nonnen in het weeshuis hebben hun leven gewijd aan de prachtige missie om de weeskinderen te helpen. We zullen doorgaan met onze Nha Trang Countryside Tour om een rijstpapierfabriek te bezoeken; Een van de meest populaire voedingsmiddelen in VN is gemaakt van rijst gestoomd en verwerkt tot ronde stukken, gedroogd in de zon op bamboe haakjes, vervolgens te koop aangeboden in de herbergen en winkels lokaal, en vaak gebruikt om de beroemde Vietnamese rijstpapier rollen te verpakken en Vietnamese loempia's. Vervolgens bezoeken we de plaats waar ze de Non la (palm-blad conische hoed) maken, een traditioneel symbool van Vietnamese mensen zonder leeftijd, geslacht of ras. Net als veel andere traditionele kostuums van Vietnam heeft Non la zijn eigen oorsprong, afkomstig van een legende met betrekking tot de geschiedenis van rijst die in Vietnam groeit. Het verhaal gaat over een gigantische vrouw uit de hemel die de mensheid heeft beschermd tegen een stortvloed aan regen. Ze droeg een hoed gemaakt van vier ronde gevormde bladeren om te waken tegen alle regen. Nadat de Godin was vertrokken, bouwde het Vietnamese volk een tempel om haar te herdenken als de regenafschermende godin. Vietnamese mensen probeerden een hoed te maken naar de godin 'door palmbladeren aan elkaar te naaien, wat nu bekend staat als Non la. Het beeld van Non la is sterk geassocieerd met boerenlevens van de rijstvelden naar bootmannen en -vrouwen. Non la kan vele toepassingen dienen zoals schaduw van de zon, een mand voor vrouwen die naar de markt gaan, een fan van een ploegman in hete de zomerdagen, of zelfs een herinnering om te herinneren. Het beeld van een jonge dame die Non la en Ao Dai draagt, is een mooi symbool van Vietnam; Non la is ook een object dat, als onderdeel van de nationale geest, Vietnamese mensen nauw met elkaar verbindt, zoveel reizigers vinden het leuk om een Non la als een speciaal souvenir uit Vietnam te nemen. Het ingewikkelde handmatige werk van vrouwen is hier volbracht, en het zou ook een geweldig cadeau voor je vrienden zijn als je thuiskomt. Je kunt de omgeving ervaren en kennis maken met de lokale bevolking om veel dingen te zien, zoals koffie verwerken, cashewnoten pellen. Bezoek het dorpsgemeenschapshuis. We had a fantastic time. Dat is a great guide and leaves "nothing in the tank" with his explanations and recounts of the local culture and history. He is very giving of his time and knowledge. His English is excellent. We would recommend him to any visitors looking to see the real Viet Nam around Nha Trang. Well done Dat, and thanks for your service. David & Julie.

My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide Dat is an experienced, local guide and he was able to share information about Vietnamese culture and way of life. We visited local businesses in the home, as well as the orphanage visit which was moving. All visits were very interesting, however our favourite was the walk through of the local market and visiting the conical hat making location. We had a better appreciation of the work that goes in to a hand-made conical hat.
We had the best day. It was incredible to leave the city and see how the locals live in the countryside. The day was well planned, informative and our guide, Tung, was fantastic. The whole family, including 3 teenage boys can’t stop talking about it. Highly recommend.
U see the orphan first and if u are hoping for more Interaction with the kids u don’t get it. The time we got their class was on and u just walk around and wave to kids and say hi and also the place is in the city not the countryside. Love the noodles making family and the other family business of the hats and mats. Lunch was great too
I would give this tour a 10 star if I could. First off the tour guide Huy really loves his job and his people. We have had some really good guides while in SE Asia but none like Huy. We traveled into the countryside to see how the people there live and work. First stop was a home where a lady and her daughter hand make the conical hats that ubiquitous to this part of the world. These are sold in the local markets, but the ones you see in souvenir stalls at the in town markets and the airport with all the pretty flowers on them are made in china. These are the real deal and working folks buy them . Next was another home/cottage industry that makes rice paper. You know the stuff that wraps your Vietnamese spring rolls. Again all by hand over a hot oven that is feed by rice hules. A true craft that has been handed down in the family. After a water brake, to another home where two sisters make grass matts. Beach matts. Placemats. Sleeping matts, and most with beautiful colors from natural dyes. These are not souvenir stops where people try to pressure you into buying trinkets made in another country, but an opportunity to see local crafts people making products that other local people use daily. Then a stop at a local market (not a souvenir stall in sight) for some fresh coconut water and a sample of fruit. Yum. Next up was the orphanage to visit with the kids and have another snack, of fresh baguettes and some soup. What the kids eat for lunch. Very tasty. Again. No doe eyed children standing there with a cup expecting you to droop a few dong in it. Just an example of good people doing good work and caring for children. It was a very happy place. Last but not least lunch! This was worth the price of th tour itself. Went to a cooking school and ate a meal that was fit for a king. Delicious. Beef, Fish. veggies and rice with water of beer to go along. What a wonderful day with Huy and his expert driver. Can't recommend this tour enough. You wont be dissapointed.
The tour was well planned and perfectly executed. Vo Nguyen Huy was an exceptional guide. He has a deep knowledge of the area and is personally acquainted with the owners of the small businesses we visited. He is also very personable and a joy to spend the day with. his English speaking skills are excellent. The Orphanage visit was very special and heart heart warming.. Huy volunteers there with his son and obviously has a special relationship with the children. The tour created special lifetime memories for me. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
Our tour guide Huy was the most informative, genuine and entertaining tour guide we've ever had. He took us to different locations in the countryside where we got to see a local market, religious temples, an orphanage, one of the oldest Vietnamese houses, locals making traditional crafts and foods and much more. The lunch was authentically Vietnamese and very delicious. Huy also shared his first-hand experience as someone living in the country side and opened our eyes to the real, everyday life of people in Vietnam. The private tour enabled us to ask so many questions and Huy put his heart and soul into ensuring that we had an informative, personalised and enjoyable experience. By the end of the tour we felt like Huy was a good friend. We would give 10 stars if we could. We couldn't recommend this tour more!!
Today we did a tour with Hoy as our guide. He was informative and spoke English well. This tour gave us what we were looking for - an inland tour. We saw parts of Nha Trang that were authentic and interesting. We went to a Temple, then on to see rush mat makers to the rice paper makers, to name a few. It was an enjoyable experience.
We did this tour with our 3 & 5 year old and it was wonderful. Our guide was patient and kind, and spoke very good English. Got to see the beautiful countryside and meet local families. Would recommend this tour when visiting Nha Trang.
