Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, gelegen aan het Victoriameer in Oeganda, biedt een unieke kans om wees- en geredde chimpansees te observeren in een natuurlijke bosrijke omgeving. Het reservaat werd in 1998 opgericht en beslaat 100 hectare. 98% van het gebied is bebost, wat een veilige haven biedt voor meer dan 50 chimpansees

Begin uw dag met een vroege ochtend pick-up van uw hotel in Kampala of Entebbe. Je reist over de weg naar de Entebbe Waterfront Pier, gelegen nabij het Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). De rit duurt ongeveer 1 tot 1,5 uur, afhankelijk van het verkeer.
Aankomst op de pier en inchecken voor uw boottransfer naar Ngamba Island. Na een korte briefing en het passen van het zwemvest stapt u aan boord van een speedboot of traditionele gemotoriseerde kano (afhankelijk van uw pakket). De boottocht duurt ongeveer 45 minuten en biedt een prachtig uitzicht op Lake Victoria, vissersboten en kleine eilanden.
Bij aankomst wordt u verwelkomd door het personeel van het heiligdom. Een korte oriëntatiesessie introduceert de geschiedenis van het reservaat, de achtergrondverhalen van de chimpansees en de natuurbeschermingsmissie van het reservaat.
Transfer terug naar Kampala of drop-off in Entebbe Na het aanmeren in Entebbe brengt uw chauffeur u terug naar Kampala of zet u af bij uw Entebbe hotel of luchthaven.
