Geniet van heerlijk eten van vijf restaurants tijdens een wandeling door de historische straten van Newport, Rhode Island! Onze tour begint voor het Wave-beeldhouwwerk op de hoek van America's Cup Ave. en Memorial Blvd.. We zullen praten over de beruchte piraten van Newport, legers van de Revolutionaire Oorlog, het vergulde tijdperk van herenhuizen en industriëlen, het Iers-Amerikaanse erfgoed tot en met de condominiumboom. Onze tour duurt 2,5 uur en zal ongeveer 1,75 mijl beslaan. Breng uw eetlust, u zult niet teleurgesteld worden!

Onze ontmoetingsplaats die zich voor de Wave Sculpture bevindt, op de hoek van America's Cup Blvd en Memorial Blvd.in het hart van Newport. Na uw check-in geven we een korte geschiedenis van de 41 North en de Armory, en gaan dan verder met onze "Off the Beaten Path"-tour. Als je al vaak in Newport bent geweest of als dit je eerste keer is, zul je onderweg veel nieuwe feiten en heerlijke restaurants ervaren.
The Armory, gebouwd in 1894 voor de Militie, wordt binnenkort de International Sailing Hall of Fame.
Brown en Howard Wharf, een van de drukste havens uit de 19e eeuw, is tegenwoordig nog steeds een populaire haven voor luxe jachten.
Wally's, Geniet van een fantastische smash burger
Waite's Wharf. Een zicht op het historische Fort Adams, gebouwd tussen 1837 en 1854, voornamelijk door de Ierse immigranten.

Vieste's, Geniet van een proeverij van zelfgemaakte Italiaanse hapjes.
Samuel Whitehorne House, het meest historische huis in Newport. Gebouwd in 1811 na de revolutie.

We had a large group of 16 for the walking food tour. Our guide Angel was knowledgeable and funny. We went to about 5 or 6 restaurants which offered the right amount of food. I left feeling like I had eaten but not feeling uncomfortably full. We got the drinks package as well which was fun. Our group was fun and cohesive, with everyone following the rules and respectful of the speakers. The food was a good variety. We like to do a food tour in a new city to get the lay of the land, and insider information.

What a lovely way to spend the midday. Our tour guide, Tom, has a long personal history in and clear love for Newport. Even so, in building this tour, he worked with a historian to provide larger context for the space. It never felt like a lecture, though, but rather an old friend sharing stories. And of course the food choices were A+. Starting with Rhode Island clam chowder, and understanding how it differs (just a little) from the New England style, each bite was delicious. The local spots were proud to show off their food and happy to give Tom a hearty handshake and all of us on the tour a very warm welcome to their hometown. What a terrific way to kick off my first time visiting Newport.

The owner and our Guide was Tom, he was friendly, informative and well connected with all of the restaurants/food stops on the tour. Nearly 3 hours and tons of delicious foods to enjoy on the well paced walk through Newport. My wife & I have enjoyed many food tours in the US and Europe, this was one of our most favorite. This tour was a fascinating and tasty way to spend 3 hours in the middle of the day. Our guide Susan had lots of interesting tidbits of info about the industries that helped Newport grow like it did. The food was great: 5 separate stops including clam chowder, chicken sandwiches, ravioli, and pastries. I highly recommend if it's your first time in Newport.
