Vanuit uw hotel in New Orleans rijdt u ongeveer 48 km langs de rivier de Mississippi naar de opstapplaats van uw moerasboot. Afhankelijk van de optie die je hebt geselecteerd, ga je aan boord van een grote moerasboot met plaats voor 15 tot 25 passagiers of een kleine moerasboot met maximaal zes tot acht passagiers voor een meer intieme, persoonlijke ervaring.
Maak een tocht van 1 uur en 45 minuten over een 8.095 hectare groot stuk cipressenmoeras met getijdenwater, dicht bij het Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Uw moerasboot wordt aangedreven door een vliegtuigpropeller, zodat u snel en vloeiend door de ondiepe moerassen kunt varen. Voel de wind op je gezicht terwijl je door de bayous vaart, omzoomd met bemoste cipressen en tupelo-gombomen. Bereid je voor op het zien van veel alligators in de warmere maanden (en warmere dagen in de winter), waarvan sommige misschien op de rotsen liggen te zonnen! Je gids kan zelfs de alligators voeren, wat geweldige fotomomenten oplevert. Houd je ogen open voor schildpadden, slangen, zilverreigers, reigers en ibis. Misschien zie je zelfs een havik, uil of Amerikaanse zeearend. In de koudere maanden kun je op zoek gaan naar witstaartherten, wasberen en de grote knaagdieren die bekend staan als nutria. Bekijk zeker de overdekte tentoonstellingen over alligators, waaronder een albino-alligator. Opmerking: bij deze tour is het ophalen of inleveren van het hotel niet inbegrepen, tenzij de optie is geselecteerd bij het afrekenen.

***Ophalen begint 1 uur en 15 minuten voor aanvang van de tour.*** Zorg dat u buiten of bij de hoofdingang bent, waar u goed zicht hebt op het aangewezen vervoersgebied. De bestuurder haalt binnen een tijdsbestek van 30 minuten op verschillende adressen personen op. Als de bus er niet meteen is, kijk dan uit naar een witte shuttlebus met een rood logo. NB: DEZE TOUR IS EXCLUSIEF VERVOER, TENZIJ U DE OPTIE MET VERVOER SELECTEERT.

This Airboat tour was so much more than just a boat ride to look at Alligators. If you are lucky enough to have Jacob as your guide, you will learn so much more.
This was a fabulous experience. It really surpassed my expectations. I thought we would maybe see a few gators, but we saw a lot of them and also it was so great having our own airboat and we felt like we were out there all by ourselves. There weren’t a bunch of other boats all around us all the time. The scenery was just beautiful annd our guide, Steve, was really knowledgeable about the area and a great host. This was a definite highlight of our trip and I would recommend it to anyone. We had four adults and two kids and everyone loved it.

I always wanted to take an airboat ride/tour and I am so glad I did this one when I was visiting New Orleans. I booked the six-passenger ride for 9:45 AM on a Sunday and wore a t-shirt, shorts and a windbreaker which was perfect for the ride. There is plenty of parking in the gravel lot and easy check-in at the building that houses restrooms and a small gift shop. You are directed to the covered dock area where they will take your photo in front of a back drop and you wait until your boat is called. Steve was our guide, he gave us some safety info then we took off at 9:50. He said he would let us know when to put the ear protection on after we got out of the harbor area. Then he let it rip and we went zooming through the marshes which were so unique and beautiful. We ended up seeing several gators that were easily 400 lbs. just sunning themselves on the banks. Saw two eagles, numerous other birds and at least two dozen other gators of varying sizes. Steve said it was an absolute perfect morning and that's why we were able to see so many. He was very informative and you could tell that he loved being out on the water and seeing these amazing reptiles in their natural habitat. We got back to the dock around 11:30 and the staff were waiting there with the photos they took earlier in case you want to purchase them. This was well organized, safe, fun and a great way to spend a morning. Loved it and would do it again!

This was a great trip. You are able to see the swamp areas of New Orleans. Very cool to do it in an airboat. We saw plenty of alligators in their natural environment. Everything about Airboat Adventures is great.

Ronnie was our tour guide and he was fantastic. He took us to a different area where we had a chance to see larger alligators. We had the opportunity to feed them marshmallows and take great pictures. Ronnie was funny and interacted with the entire group. I felt safe the whole time and definitely would recommend this tour.

We had a great time at airboat adventure. We booked a small airboat with six passengers and it was wonderful. Our guide Steve was very knowledgeable about the nature and habitat. We were able to see lots and lots of gators. The ride was fun and I highly recommended it.

By far my favorite activity of the whole trip. Got out of the city and saw the other side of Louisiana. The swamp was beautiful. Our guide was awesome. We saw many sizes of the alligators. The boat ride was much smoother than I expected. Be prepared for weather. This is an outside activity.

We loved our 6 person (actually 5 person) Airboat Adventure Tour with Steve. Having grown up in the area, he has a deep knowledge of the history and animal life in the bayou. He brought us to many different areas of the bayou, each with different flora and fauna. The small group size allowed for a lot of personal interaction, and he was great about figuring out what each of us were interested in (for example, he noticed I was interested in the wildflowers growing in the Bayou, and brought our boat closer so I could get some pictures). In addition to many alligators, we got to see a bald eagle and an owl, as well as many other types of birds, on our tour. This was one of the best experiences we had in New Orleans.
