De Sweet & Spicy Experience is een tour in de wereld van de twee bekendste voedingsproducten in Calabrië: De rode dame, Tropea’s rode ui, en de koningin van Calabrië, de Nduja uit Spilinga. Twee echte sterren in de keuken, geliefd bij de grootste nationale en internationale chefs. De Cipolla Rossa van Tropea, bekend om zijn zoetheid, is een bescheiden ingrediënt van de Calabrische boerentraditie met veel genezende eigenschappen. De Nduja, een traditionele pittige smeerbare salami met een intense en unieke smaak, symboliseert een hele regio. Tijdens de zoete en pittige ervaringen bezoeken gasten een uienboerderij en een Nduja-fabriek, waarbij ze alle landbouwstappen, de productie-input en de levenscyclus van planten en dieren ontdekken. Leren koppelen en gebruiken in de keuken. Proeverij van een topselectie van beide producten direct op de boerderijen.

Such an interesting tour of the Tropean onion fields and tasting of unique products. This was followed by a visit to the Nduja factory! Delicious on bread and so many other ways. Enzo who owns the business, is extremely informative, helpful and kind. We learned so much.

Our tour was led by Enzo who made this experience worthwhile before we reached the Tropea Onion fields and the Nduja factory. The Tropean onions are unique and we learned why. Ndjua is delicious. Great to learn how its made and how to use it.
