Vervolg uw reis in het bruisende hart van Rome op Campo de' Fiori, een plein vol karakter en doordrenkt van lokale traditie. Van daaruit wandelt u door het historische centrum tot u Largo di Torre Argentina bereikt, een suggestieve archeologische site met de overblijfselen van vier oude Romeinse tempels. De route gaat verder door de charmante straatjes van Rome, waar elke bocht verborgen kerken, grote paleizen of elegante fonteinen onthult. Uw wandeling brengt u naar het ontzagwekkende Pantheon, een van de best bewaarde monumenten van het oude Rome. In opdracht van Marcus Agrippa in 27 v.Chr. als tempel voor alle Romeinse goden. De tour gaat verder naar de betoverende Fontana di Trevi, een van de meest iconische bezienswaardigheden van Rome. Eindig uw reis op het elegante Piazza di Spagna, de thuisbasis van de beroemde Spaanse Trappen.

Piazza Navona is een van de meest spectaculaire en karakteristieke pleinen van het barokke Rome, gebouwd op de overblijfselen van het Stadion van Domitianus. De vorm van het huidige plein reproduceert precies de omtrek van het oude stadion dat de keizer in 86 na Christus bouwde voor atletiekwedstrijden en paardenraces.
Een tijdloos architectonisch juweeltje genesteld in het hart van Rome. Wat het Pantheon onderscheidt is zijn ontzagwekkende koepel, die nog steeds een van de grootste ongewapende betonnen koepels ter wereld is. De blijvende betekenis van het Pantheon overstijgt zijn architectonische wonder. Het is door de eeuwen heen opnieuw gebruikt en is getransformeerd van een heidense tempel tot een christelijke kerk, de Basilica di Santa Maria ad Martyres.
Gooi eventueel een muntje in het water. Volgens de legende ben je er dan zeker van dat je ooit nog eens naar Rome terugkeert.

Interesting fast paced walking tour with Claudia who was very knowledgeable and funny too. You get headphones when you arrive at the Touristation Office so you can hear your guide as you walk through piazzas and markets on a tour which includes the Piazza Navona, The Pantheon (outside only and for just a few minutes), the Trevi Fountain (from the street level not the inner section which you have to pay to enter) and the area around the Spanish Steps. If you want to see the inside of the Pantheon or get to the water's edge at the Trevi Fountain, you need to book a specific visit separately.
Got to see a lot of sites however, we did not go inside or explore which was misleading from the description. We covered much ground and our guide was very knowledgeable.

Yes, it was worth it, although it was very crowded, Maria my tour guide could manage and she is full of knowledge. I enjoyed very much and I remember the seeing and I definitely recommend

It's very busy and crowed, not enough time at Pantheon or Trevi Fountain. A bit rushed, hard to keep up with guide.

Great information from tour guide but we didn't go INTO the Pantheon! That was primary reason for booking tour.

Had a great experience. Jose was a fantastic guide. He is quite knowledgeable about the history of the sites, art and politics. Jose's blend of all three were quite interesting and at times entertaining. We also had an add-on visit of a basilica. Highly recommended.
