If you’re visiting Nashville and have any love for whiskey, stop what you’re doing and book the blend-your-own experience at Nashville Barrel Company. It was genuinely one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Justin was fantastic — knowledgeable, passionate, and the kind of person who makes you feel like you actually know what you’re doing even when you’re sniffing through your fifth sample trying to nail your ratios. He walked us through the whole process in a way that was educational without ever feeling like a lecture. The blending process itself is so much fun — tasting through different barrels, tweaking your blend, and landing on something that’s actually yours is incredibly satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, which made the whole thing feel like hanging out with friends who happen to know a lot about whiskey. We left with a bottle we’re genuinely proud of and a much deeper appreciation for what goes into a good rye. Justin, you made this experience — thank you!
