Narvarte At Night: Tacos, Chelas & Mezcal

Narvarte staat in heel Mexico-Stad bekend om zijn taco's en we beginnen de tour met een bezoek aan een buurttaquería die gespecialiseerd is in vulkanen, een soort krokante tortilla gekookt op een houtskoolvlam, gesmoord in kaas en poblano-pepers. Van daaruit proberen we taco's al pastor - stel je een groot buitenbraadspit voor, schietende vlammen - en suadero-taco's van leveranciers die al tientallen jaren in de buurt zijn. We bezoeken een levendige cantina om meer te leren over de cantinacultuur in Mexico-Stad, waar we desgewenst een chela, jargon voor koud bier of een cocktail gooien. En we eindigen met het proberen van een vlucht van kleine, ambachtelijke mezcals in een gezellig buurtrestaurant, onderdeel van een privé mezcal-proeverij onder leiding van een lokale chef-kok en expert. This food tour did not disappoint. Adrian is such a warm and friendly guide, who is so clearly passionate about the culinary arts and eager to share his knowledge. The food was fantastic and they were very accommodating to my vegetarian preferences. 10/10 experience.

"We did the Narvarte at Night food tour last night and it was such a vibe. We wandered through a real local neighborhood, hitting up taquerías for the best street tacos — like juicy al pastor from a flaming spit and crispy volcanes loaded with cheese and peppers. The rain didn't stop us — it just added to the atmosphere, making the whole experience feel even more authentic and cozy. Adrian, our guide, was super knowledgeable about the food, the culture, and everything in between. We ended with a private mezcal tasting that was just incredible — smooth, smoky flavors paired with little appetizers. Perfect way to experience real Mexico City at night, rain and all."

We had a wonderful food tour with Nico through Navarte, ending with a really insightful mescal tasting experience with Wen. The food was tasty but we also really enjoyed the history and background and Nico was brilliant company! I would recommend this tour highly!

We had a wonderful experience with Toti on our taco tour through Eat Mexico. We ate delicious food, learned about the history and origins of the food, and enjoyed delightful conversation. The mezcal tasting was also amazing - learning how small-batch mezcal is made and savored was a unique experience.
Absolutely brilliant tour with our local guide Yimnah. She was friendly and knowledgeable throughout, with excellent English. She met us at the first taqueria and talked us through the plan. Really good that she checked for allergies, and she made sure my wife, who can't eat gluten, was OK the whole evening. We were taken to an excellent selection of taquerias and a cantina serving food with outstanding flavours. Not being locals we would never have ventured out this far and found these places. Can't recommend this highly enough.
We had such a great time on the street food tour! We were led by Yimnah, who is super nice, very knowledgeable, interesting and clearly knows her stuff! The recommendations for the tacos were excellent, my favourite was 💯 the tripe at Taco Tony's even though it was my last one and I was pretty full by that point.
