Cat Tien National Park ligt in de overgangszone tussen het Truong Son-gebergte in Vietnam (de hooglanden) en de Mekong-delta. Vanwege de unieke locatie en het bestaan van 5 verschillende bostypen in het park, ondersteunt Cat Tien een verbazingwekkende reeks planten en dieren. We had a wonderful trip led by Harry, our tour guide, who was very knowledgeable, super friendly, and fun, and nothing was too much trouble for him. The national park was a complete contrast to Ho Chi Minh City, very peaceful and relaxing. We would recommend the cycling as an additional activity.
Mhia (Harry) was great - enthusiastic and eager to help and explain. Loved the place we stayed. The nighttime animal viewing was underwhelming. A favorite thing was listening to the gibbons’ mating call early in the morning - you don’t want to miss it.
Fantastic experience, our tour guide, Chinh, was a incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and hospitable during our stay in Cat Tien. We saw wild deer during the evening safari, and several stunning birds, monkeys and crocodiles during the trek through the jungle.
We stayed here for a few days and loved every minute. Our accommodation (Green Bamboo Lodge) was on one side of the river and the National Park was on the other side. We could hear the Gibbons calling each morning. We did a guided tour of the rehabilitation centre and an unguided walk through the rainforest. We saw how the animals are being helped to re-enter the forest and had a lovely walk through forest with large trees.
We had a wonderful trip to cat tien park with our guide Dien. Everything went perfectly well, very flexible to our requests and we learned a lot about the jungle and also about the local culture.
