In het Nagasaki Peace Park kunt u wandelen tussen gedenktekens en sculpturen gewijd aan de slachtoffers van de atoombom. Neem de tijd om na te denken over het iconische Vredesbeeld en leer over de toewijding van de stad aan vrede. Het is een betekenisvolle plek om de geschiedenis van Nagasaki te begrijpen en memorabele foto's te maken.
In Hypocenter Park kun je de exacte locatie zien waar de atoombom in 1945 explodeerde. Wandel rond het monument en leer over de tragische gebeurtenissen en de impact op de stad. Het is een plek om na te denken over de geschiedenis en een dieper inzicht te krijgen in Nagasaki's reis naar vrede.
In het Nagasaki Atoombommuseum kun je tentoonstellingen bekijken over de gebeurtenissen van 9 augustus 1945 en de impact van de atoombom op de stad. Bekijk foto's, artefacten en persoonlijke verhalen die de tragedie en veerkracht van de burgers van Nagasaki illustreren. Het is een plek om te leren, te reflecteren en een dieper inzicht te krijgen in de geschiedenis en het belang van vrede.
Bij Meganebashi, of Brillenbrug, kun je de oudste stenen boogbrug van Japan zien, gebouwd in 1634. Wandel langs de rivier en bewonder de reflectie, die een perfecte cirkel vormt, waaraan de brug zijn bijnaam dankt. Het is een schilderachtige plek voor foto's en een kans om een stukje geschiedenis van Nagasaki te ervaren.
In de Oura-kerk kunt u de oudste christelijke kerk van Japan bezoeken en een UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocatie. Verken het historische gebouw en leer over de geschiedenis van het christendom in Nagasaki. Het is een kans om prachtige architectuur te zien en het unieke culturele en religieuze erfgoed van de stad te begrijpen.
Bij Glover Garden kunt u westerse woningen uit de 19e eeuw verkennen op een heuvel met uitzicht op de haven van Nagasaki. Wandel door de tuinen, geniet van panoramische uitzichten en kom alles te weten over de buitenlandse handelaren die de modernisering van Japan hebben beïnvloed. Het is een geweldige plek om foto's te maken, de geschiedenis te ervaren en te genieten van een schilderachtig uitzicht over de stad.

Pick-up is beschikbaar op elke locatie binnen 2 km van Nagasaki Station. Helaas kunnen we geen pick-up verzorgen buiten dit gebied. Voor gasten die met een cruiseschip arriveren, halen we u op bij Matsugae International Terminal (Sasebo-haven is niet beschikbaar). Als u in een hotel verblijft, bevestigen wij de hotelnaam. Andere vergaderlocaties kunnen ook geregeld worden. We wisselen vooraf contactinformatie uit via WhatsApp en stemmen de details af voor de tourdag. Op de dag van de rondleiding zal ik een bord met uw naam vasthouden om u te verwelkomen.

Our guide Michie (and Xai) were amazing! Every detail of the tour we did was fascinating, from learning how the local tram system works, highlights of the area, and a very thorough tour and historical overview of the atomic bomb and its effects in World War II, we learned so much. We got to make an unplanned stop by a local shop that sells castella, a local sponge cake that is wonderful! Michie also got to know our family, our interests and recommended local food specialties to try after our tour ended. This tour has been one of the highlights of our first trip to Japan! I’d also like to note that Michie took time to help another small group from our cruise navigate the tram system (payment, what stop to get off on), which was so kind and generous of her to do!

We had an amazing day with Hiro in Nagasaki. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating and gave us an incredible tour. After our tour ended he took us to a wonderful sushi place for lunch too on his own time and even went out of his way and helped us find an item we wanted in a store on his own time. His car was also very comfortable and clean.

We were met at the cruise terminal by two delightful ladies Adrianne and Akino who were to be our guides for the morning. We used the trams, an ideal mode of transport to see the sights of Nagasaki. Adrianne was very knowledgeable (Akino took the back seat this time) as she guided us to the various sights in particular those relating to the atom bomb and the devastation left behind in 1945. The ladies finally escorted us back to the cruise terminal, an hour after the tour was meant to end. We thoroughly enjoyed the morning in their company in this beautiful city of Nagasaki.
