(Op verzoek) De oude stad Mykonos (Chora) zal indruk op u maken met zijn absolute schoonheid en stijl. De stad Mykonos, door de lokale bevolking Chora genoemd, is een traditioneel Cycladisch dorp gebouwd rond een baai. Auto's zijn niet toegestaan in het hart van de nederzetting het grootste deel van de dag, wat de wandeling door de labyrintstraten bijzonder aangenaam maakt, vooral in de vroege ochtend.
De kustplaats Agios Ioannis ligt aan de zuidwestkant van het eiland op een afstand van 5 km van Mykonos-stad. In dit gebied zijn scènes uit de film Shirley Valentine opgenomen.
Ontdek een adembenemend kustparadijs, waar panoramische uitzichten op zee en fascinerende landschappen samenkomen. Dit gebied is perfect voor fotografen en biedt idyllische plekken om adembenemende uitzichten vast te leggen, omringd door serene wateren en een schilderachtig landschap. Een waar visueel paradijs.
Choulakia Beach in Mykonos staat bekend om zijn unieke, gladde kiezels en kristalhelder water. Het is een beschermd gebied en biedt een sereen, ongerept landschap, perfect voor natuurliefhebbers en een prachtig uitzicht op de zonsondergang.
De vuurtoren of Pharos Armenistis staat sinds 1891 als een schildwacht over het gebied. De vuurtoren van Armenistis (Faros Armenistis) staat in zijn stilte, als eerbetoon aan de rijke maritieme geschiedenis van het eiland Mykonos, terwijl het vandaag de dag nog volledig functioneel is. Gelegen in het noordwestelijke deel van het eiland, in het Fanari-gebied, ongeveer 6,5 kilometer van Chora (Mykonos-stad) aan de noordkustweg van het eiland, kijkt de vuurtoren uit over het sprankelende blauwe water tussen Mykonos en het naburige eiland Tinos.
Agios Sostis op Mykonos behoort vanwege de ligging tot de rustigste stranden van het eiland, een beetje ver van de luidruchtige zuidelijke stranden van Mykonos. Het is een ongerept gebied zonder enige voorzieningen, waardoor bezoekers zich volkomen vrij voelen. Op weg naar het strand ziet u de kerk van Agios Sostis met zijn onvergelijkbare schoonheid.
Het klooster van Paleokastro in Mykonos ligt op een heuvel dicht bij Ano Mera, het tweede dorp van Mykonos, op een van de groenste plekken op het eiland. Het bestaat uit een nonnenklooster (vrouwenklooster) en dateert uit de 18e eeuw. De architectuur is typisch Cycladisch. I
Ano Mera op Mykonos is het tweede grotere dorp na Chora (hoofdstad) en is een van de oudste dorpen van het eiland. Het is een rustig dorp waar de lokale bevolking hun dagelijks leven voortzet zonder onderbroken te worden door een menigte toeristen, zoals dat in de hoofdstad gebeurt. Dichtbij Ano Mera ligt het klooster van Panagia Tourliani, waarvan de hoofdkerk een prachtige verzameling iconen herbergt, gemaakt door een Kretenzische schilder. evenals heilige vaten en gewaden. De prachtige klokkentoren en de marmeren fontein liggen op de binnenplaats en zijn de moeite van het bekijken waard. Ano Mera herbergt ook enkele tavernes langs het centrale plein, waar u tegen een normale prijs traditionele gerechten kunt proeven. Rondom het plein liggen ook cafés en banketbakkers.
De bouw van het klooster werd opgericht in 1542 door twee priesters en vernoemd naar de Presentatie van de Heilige Maagd Maria. De architectuur van het gebouw is vrij indrukwekkend, met een witgekalkte buitenkant en een gekleurde koepel. Een prachtige marmeren fontein ligt op het erf buiten de kerk. In het interieur treft men een indrukwekkende houten iconostase (altaarscherm) gemaakt in 1775 door Florentijnse kunstenaars.
Divounia, die sommige lokale bewoners "Venus's Borsten" noemen - ze zien eruit als borsten. Het is een gebied dat het vroeger was. een klein vissersdorpje, wat Mykonos het dichtst bij een vissersdorpje heeft! In de ochtend kun je er, ongeacht de tijd van het jaar, veel authentieke visbeelden maken, die je zelden ziet op plaatsen als Mykonos en waarvan je je misschien niet eens kunt voorstellen dat ze op Mykonos bestaan.
De verborgen attractie die je met ons gaat verkennen, is een plek die alleen bekend is bij de permanente inwoners van Mykonos. Je maakt daar zeker je beste foto's. Het uitzicht zal je fascineren.

We absolutely loved our tour with Alex! He messaged me the day before to confirm the start time and the morning of, confirmed again with a pic of where he was at the port exit. It was very easy to find him. He gave us several options for our tour and customized as we went based on our needs (including traveling with an 8 year old!). He gave us the perfect amount of detailed information about the area and was helpful pointing out places of interest. Whenever we wanted to stop and take a picture or take a break, he was very amenable. He even took pictures of our family for us. I would definitely use his services again! We wanted to see the island on our first full day. This tour was perfect. He took us to the places that were highlights as well as some other great stopping points for pictures. It was tailored to leave out a spot or two that we were visiting later in our visit. However, he made sure to show us his own favorite spots on Mykonos. Do not miss out on the Lighthouse and being able to have such a nice and professional guide customize a tour. Excellent experience!

My husband and I booked this tour at 11 pm the night before our visit to Mykonos. That being said, we weren't expecting too much. Our tour guide Perry was very nice. We were 15 minutes late because there was a line to get off our cruise ship to get a tender to the island. He was very gracious about it and let us know that he had another tour starting at 11, so he would have to cut the tour short which, of course, we understood. We chose a 2 hour tour, so he drove us all around the island to the different neighborhoods and stopped at all the best picture spots. We had the added bonus that he was a professional photographer and indeed our pictures from Mykonos are some of the best from our 2 week trip! We did feel he was speeding on the streets in between stops, but we think it was due to our being late and the amount of traffic in the popular areas which was significant. We also got stuck behind an ATV tour which delayed us. He didn't get into the history of the island, which is always interesting to us, but he was young and maybe that is not everyone's cup of tea. Aside from that, we had a beautiful day in Mykonos and got to see most of the island thanks to our tour!
