Ongeveer 1 uur buiten Athene bereiken we het kanaal van Korinthe met zijn adembenemende uitzichten, waar u unieke foto's kunt maken. Misschien zelfs bungeejumpen!
Na ongeveer 1:20 uur na ons vertrek uit Athene, arriveert u in de oude heuvelstad Mycene en geniet u van een wandeltocht door de ruïnes van deze eens zo machtige, versterkte nederzetting. Hoor door een gids hoe de stad, in de Griekse mythe, werd geregeerd door koning Agamemnon, en bekijk hoogtepunten zoals het paleis, de tombe van Agamemnon en de Leeuwenpoort.
Begin met het verkennen van het oude Epidaurus, de mythologische geboorteplaats van Asklepios, de Griekse god van genezing. Bezoek de spectaculaire relikwieën, waaronder het door UNESCO beschermde heiligdom van Asklepios, met zijn afgebrokkelde gebouwen. Bewonder vervolgens het adembenemende oude theater van Epidaurus. Het kolossale theater, gebouwd in de 4e eeuw voor Christus, wordt beschouwd als een van 's werelds mooiste en heeft nog steeds een fantastische akoestiek.
Aangekomen bij Nafplio, was de stad de hoofdstad van de Eerste Helleense Republiek en van het koninkrijk Griekenland, vanaf het begin van de Griekse revolutie in 1821 tot 1834. Volg een droompad om de kostbare edelstenen van Náfplio te ontdekken, beginnend bij de middeleeuwse oude stad, de smalle geplaveide steegjes, de neoklassieke goed bewaarde herenhuizen met de Bougainvillea bomen sieren hun werven en balkons en de Turkse fonteinen. Daarna stop je in de mooie zeehaven van Nafplio. Wandel in een privé-modus en proef heerlijke Griekse gerechten in een taverne die wordt aanbevolen door de lokale bevolking.

We had a fabulous day visiting the Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio! Theo was excellent. Pick up was smooth and easy at our hotel. Theo shared great information with us during the drive that helped us in our visit to the sites. This day was a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic day with George- he was an amazing guide; we had a fantastic time on our full day tour of Corinth, Nafplio, and Mycenae. Peloponnese was really a nice area as expected. 😊 Harry made the tour even better as we felt very much comfortable and at ease in his company. He is kind, easy to talk to, good sense of humour, knowledgeable, and knows his way around. He has given us a lot of good information about Greek culture, the different places we visited/passed by. Again, another well constructed tour of the Peloponnese. As before, timely introduction and updates from our driver (Dimitris) made things go very smoothly. Although Dimitris was a different personality to Theo, he too was demonstrably proud of his country and went to great lengths to demonstrate many of the sites, history, context and events that shaped his history. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day and Dimitris was very pleasant company. Thanks for another great day!

The tour was excellent!! Giorgio was a wonderful and safe driver/guide very knowledgeable and answered all our questions and prepared us for what to do and see. So nice and restful to do things at your own pace and not be rushing to the bus or waiting on others. I strongly recommend this tour to all it is definitely worth it. It was wonderful and stress free and you are in control of what you want to see how long etc Also the tour company is excellent and very responsive. Answered all my questions is very timely manner

Amazing views from the top of Epidaurus and Mycenaes Archaelogical sites, Corinth Canal and Temple of Apollo. Sumptuous seafood in Nafplio and vistas of the beautiful bay and castles. Giorgos our tour guide explained much of fascinating Greek ancient and modern history, stopped often for amazing photo opportunities and providednus with a wonderful Greek loukumi treat.
