De Muthurajawela Wetlands is een van de beste plaatsen om zowel de schoonheid als de voordelen van een wetland-ecosysteem te zien. Naast de biodiversiteitseigenschappen, maakt de grote mate van mangrove en andere vegetatie het wetland tot een ideale koolstofput die helpt bij klimaatkoeling. Dit moeras staat bekend om zijn unieke en zeer diverse ecosysteem en wordt vermeld als een van de 12 prioritaire wetlands in Sri Lanka waarvan wordt aangenomen dat ze ongeveer 7.000 jaar geleden zijn ontstaan. Je maakt een boottocht van twee uur in dit fascinerende wetland.

07.00 uur - Je wordt begroet en opgehaald door onze TUK TUK-chauffeur en brengt je naar Muthurajawela Wetlands. 08.00 uur - Bij aankomst op het startpunt geeft onze gids u een korte introductie over de boottocht en veiligheidsvereisten. Daarna begin je aan je boottocht met de bedoeling zoveel mogelijk vogels te spotten. De Muthurajawela Wetlands ondersteunen meer dan 192 verschillende soorten flora en 209 verschillende soorten fauna, waaronder Slender Loris, evenals nog eens 102 soorten vogels. Van sommige van de geïdentificeerde soorten is aangetoond dat ze inheems zijn in dit prachtige moeras. 10.00 uur - Nadat u getuige bent geweest van een van de belangrijkste wetlands in Sri Lanka, wordt u door onze TUK TUK-chauffeur teruggebracht naar uw hotel. 11.00 uur - Je wordt afgezet bij je hotel in Colombo / Negombo.

A perfect trip for nature lovers. We did the early start at 08.00 which was best for the wildlife, and were lucky to have the guide who was great at spotting, and the boat to ourselves. Very enjoyable, loads of photo opportunities, and excellent information. The centre would benefit from some more up to date pictures of the flora & fauna but this did not detract from our enjoyment

Indika was a fabulous driver. Very thoughtful and pointed out sights.The experience itself was excellent. We saw lots of birds and our boat driver knew the waterways and wildlife really well
It was a very enjoyable boat ride and we saw many different birds as well as monitor lizards. The tour operator was very organised and communicated well to ensure pick up details etc.

Excellent tour. Friendly staff and the guide was very knowledgeable about history of the area, the wildlife and the fauna and taught us a lot. The pick-up and drop-off from our hotel in Negombo was smooth. The driver bought us refeshments when headed to the tour and on the way back took us to stops such as a coffee shop. We went in the morning after a very rainy day and because of this we saw dozens of water monitor lizards and various birds. Highly recommended.
Vidu was my driver and he was great, he went above and beyond and was really patient and friendly. The trip was great especially the beach which we had to go through the forest.
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about birds and the environment. He showed us many different types of birds, very friendly and approachable, he even brought fresh fruit for a snack. It was an amazing experience.
