Beschrijving
Het gebouw ontworpen door Santiago Calatrava heeft duurzame ontwerpinitiatieven, waarbij natuurlijke energie en lichtbronnen zijn verwerkt, zoals het gebruik van zonnepanelen om het gebouw van stroom te voorzien en water uit de baai om de interne temperatuur te regelen. De hoofdtentoonstelling is het geesteskind van natuurkundige en kosmoloog Luiz Alberto Oliveira en neemt bezoekers mee door vijf grote gebieden: Kosmos, Aarde, Antropoceen, Morgen en Nu. Het museum behandelt kwesties als bevolkingsgroei en toegenomen levensverwachting, consumptiepatronen, klimaatverandering, genetische manipulatie en bio-ethiek, de verdeling van rijkdom, technologische vooruitgang en veranderingen in de biodiversiteit.

Het Museum van Morgen is gewijd aan het verkennen van de mogelijkheden van een duurzame toekomst door middel van interactieve artefacten die wetenschap, kunst, technologie en cultuur samenbrengen. Het is gehuisvest in een prachtig ruimteschipachtig gebouw dat het middelpunt zal worden van een groter regeneratieproject van de wijk Porto Maravilha.
Vanaf deze plek kun je de prachtige Guanabara Bay zien. Bewonder het uitzicht en maak foto's. Neem de tijd om het standbeeld van Barão de Mauá te zien en kom meer te weten over deze visionair die de naam voor dit plein heeft gegeven.
Gemaakt voor de Olympische Spelen van 2016, heeft de Olympic Boulevard de aandacht getrokken van grafitti-artiesten over de hele wereld. Wandel rond om de grootste graffiti ter wereld te zien: de Mural das Etnias van Kobra.

Our guide Renato is the best! He made sure we understand the museum and provided a background story.
This is a unique museum. Partly scientific, partly philosophical, partly poetic, it is appropriately called Museum of the Future, because it is capable of helping us raise our consciousness level via contemplation, hopefully leading to acts of co-creation. Hats off.
There are no words for all the sensations that the Museum generated, not only for its exhibition artist, it is from the reception of the same building.
It is a very modern and thematic tomorrow inspired museum, it is in a place on the shores of Guanabara Bay with a beautiful view and admission is cheap.
Beautiful place, temporary exhibition on the dream and permanent exhibition on the human era since its appearance on this planet... Beautiful boat-shaped place facing Rio Bay. Have a good time, about 3 hours of visiting. There is a typical Amazonian restaurant at the end of the museum very nice but we did not go there...

Loved this museum! The tour guide was wonderful, taking us to see other things but the star here was the museum- would love to go back because there are so many things to experience - and we were in there for 2 hours!
