Very good guided tour and very well organized with the hours of disembarkation and reboarding in the boat to visit the islands, it was well managed and well guided, just a shame that the translation into French was poor, but the nice guide then overall we spend a superb day
It’s not much more than a boat ride between the islands. Not much “tour and guide” provided. Consider public transport, it wouldn’t cost as much and would allow you to set your own pace.
It was a great trip and reasonably priced. It is helpful to be next to yellow kiosk when the tour guide starts walking to the boats ( she holds a flag), so that you do not get lost in the crowd. There were enough people to fill up two boats. The glass demonstration in Murano was great, Burano was charming and Torcellp’s Byzantine church interesting.
I liked that the boat staff were very professional and punctual. They put up signs for the departures which helped to re-enforce the timing in the event that someone didn’t hear the announcement on the PA system. I would have liked more time on Both Murano and Burano islands.
They gave us time to explore the islands. The commentary on the boat by the guide about the different island/scenery along the route is very helpful.
No more can be expected than is proposed. Murano: small exhibition of the art of blown glass 10’ -> we stay a little hungry in front of so many masters. The time on the island intended to buy some souvenirs... the same for Burano: visit and lace.. pretty houses all colored differently .. as for Torcello .. big disappointment. Admission 5€ in the only church: nothing to see, in works - everything is forbidden.. climbing in the tower will cost you 4€ more. Back along the canal - short walk before taking the boat again. Latecomers stay on the platform. Be on time ..
Company is Very Viva Venice - very professional and pleasant staff, taking us to all the places mentioned with sufficient time to see everything. Only recommendation is stick close to your group because some including myself ended up getting lost, missed the boat in Torcello, had to take local ferry for an additional 3 hours.
IT was very nice but the amount of time you had to explore each Island was way to short. You only had about 45 minutes to an hour to see the places. Tocello was nice because there was not much to see so so the time was ok. Murano & Burano you need about half a day at each place to really see & explore.......sooooo much to see there!
We really liked it, we did a half-day tour of the three islands, we got to know the process of blowing Glass, the manufacture of lace and the historic island of Torcello. It's worth it.
We really looked forward to seeing the glass factories in Murano. Instead, they take you to ONE place, you get a short demonstration, then you're hustled into the ONE shop to buy pieces much inferior to what you'll see in Venice ... and then the boat leaves!! NO TIME IN MURANO! Burano is a small village full of street side souvenir shops. Not very interesting -- you have about 45 minutes. Torcello has NOTHING but a restaurant! you'll spend about an hour waiting around to go back. Skip this tour, find a boat to take you to Murano so you can really see what the island has to offer.
