Dharavi is de grootste sloppenwijk van India, gelegen in Mumbai. Het werd beroemd nadat de film "Slumdog Millionaire" erdoor werd geïnspireerd. Dharavi is een unieke plek om te verkennen, met een bevolking van ongeveer een miljoen mensen en een alfabetiseringsgraad van 69 procent. De sloppenwijk heeft een indrukwekkende ondernemerscultuur, met kleinschalige industrieën zoals aardewerk, leerproductie, textiel en recycling. Terwijl je door de smalle steegjes loopt, zie je bekwame ambachtslieden nuttige producten maken van weggegooide materialen.

I had an incredible experience touring the Dharavi slums. I can’t say enough good things about this tour and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mumbai. Krishna was an amazing tour guide!!!
