Verloren in de pagina's van de geschiedenis, staat deze Britse uitkijktoren nog steeds hoog en kijkt hij uit op de prachtige Arabische Zee. Gedurende zijn 350-jarig bestaan, heeft dit fort aanvallen van piraten, zeeoorlogen en heeft het ook gediend als garnizoen. Vanaf het fort krijg je het architecturale meesterwerk te zien - Bandra Worli Sea Link aan de ene kant en het vogelperspectief op het vintage dorp aan de andere kant.
Na de Nicherin-tak van het boeddhisme heeft deze vijftig jaar oude tempel een prachtig Boeddhabeeld - een zeldzaamheid in Mumbai. Mensen komen hier om niet alleen het idool te aanbidden, maar ook de leeuwenmenschelijke monnik.
We beginnen de wandeling met de tempel van de pratende godin en gaan de markt in die je naar het land van verhalen vervoert. Wat fascinerend is, is dat er niets is veranderd sinds de tijd van de eerste nederzetting - Of het nu de manier is waarop ze hun netten maken, hun vissen vangen, hun zaken doen, hun overtuigingen, de gewoonten of eeuwenoude tradities.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
1) De chauffeur is 5 minuten voor aanvang van de tour in het hotel. 2) Starttijd van de tour voor hotels in Noord-Mumbai varieert. 3) Als u op het schip verblijft bij de Mumbai International Cruise Terminal en u wilt worden opgehaald van buiten het schip, dan zijn er extra kosten van Rs 1000/- per persoon. Dit bedrag dient contant te worden betaald aan de gids of de chauffeur bij aanvang van de tour.

- De volgorde van de tour wordt bepaald door No Footprints en zijn gids ter plaatse

I recently did a heritage walking tour of Worli Village, and it was honestly such a refreshing experience. It’s incredible to think that this 800-year-old village exists right in the middle of Mumbai, yet holds onto so much history, culture, and character. Our guide, Heer, was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and brought the place to life with stories, facts, and little bits of trivia that made the walk so engaging. Having lived in Mumbai all my life, I was surprised at how much I didn’t know about this area! What really stood out was how well she managed the group — she kept a comfortable pace, never rushed us, and made sure everyone stayed interested and involved throughout. It felt relaxed yet informative at the same time. As a fun bonus, she even invited a local YouTube sensation to join us, which added a unique and lively touch to the experience. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore a different side of Mumbai!

Had been seeing the beautiful colourful boats of this Worli village every time I would cross the sea link to go towards Nariman Point and today got the chance to actually see then up & Close. Heer is damn good. She being so friendly with the locals made the tour so easy and the feelings of outsiders intruding the village life was not there. She knows the details of the place and ppl too. The Worli Village Walk was a truly memorable experience! I loved discovering the history, culture and hidden stories of Worli with Devyani leading the way. Nasreen understood that we were clearly tired and conducted this tour at a slower pace - much appreciated. We found Nasreen very engaging and the tour was conducted as a conversation - with some guides they just want to give you information; this certainly isn’t her style. The tour gave us an insight into the history of the area, the social challenges faced by the local population and a political overview. Really enjoyed our afternoon and forgot we were tired!

We had a wonderful tour of Worli with Devyani! She's not only very knowledgeable about the area, it's people, and their history but she's deeply passionate about it which makes the tour a true joy. It's an area of Mumbai that most tourists will never see and very worth the experience! I'd recommend the earlier one so you can hopefully see the fish market in action!
