Visited mid-September, whilst major construction was taking place. The main rail line into Engelberg was shut and buses were in place instead (fair, this was pre planned). Engleberg is a lovely town to visit ! Great shops and small cafes. The price to ascend Titlis does not currently match the experience. The rotair gondolas are shut and there’s 1 single and very packed cable car doing trips to the summit. The summit is a construction site. Cranes across the summit points and many walkways closed etc. lots of hoarding at the summit building. The new tower experience is really good but incredibly expensive. £60 for 3 coffees and 2 cakes. I would avoid this attraction until the site is fully constructed or ticket prices are dropped.

Reisroute

This was the first thing we did in Switzerland that we felt like we really got scammed. The ~$125 ticket includes literally nowhere to take in the views from the top that’s not either closed for construction, behind construction netting, in a walkway, or for an additional fee. The glacier walk was the only thing open at the top; the cliff walk was partially closed and completely packed. The rotatairs are closed so transit is a packed large gondola. There’s nowhere to look at the mountains at all, inside or out; the temporary snack shop faces construction equipment. It is worth it to go halfway, to the lake— it’s a beautiful walk with great views.
Good Views, But Not the Best Time to Visit Mount Titlis is undoubtedly a beautiful destination with breathtaking alpine scenery, and I don't regret visiting. However, I felt a little unfortunate with the timing of my trip. The TITLIS Rotair was not operating, which was disappointing as it's one of the mountain's signature attractions. There was also significant construction work underway across the summit area, which affected the overall experience. In addition, the Glacier Cave was closed, leaving relatively few activities available apart from the Ice Flyer and Cliff Walk. I was also surprised that access to the Horizon Deck required an additional charge, despite already paying for the journey to the top. However, one pleasant discovery was that at the entrance to the Horizon Deck, you can visit the Rolex Boutique free of charge. Even if you're not in the market for a luxury watch, it's worth stepping inside to admire the impressive watch collection and enjoy a wonderful elevated view over the Titlis valley from slightly higher up. That said, the highlight of our day came on the way back. A helpful ticket lady at Lucerne Station suggested that we stop at Trübsee, and we're so glad we took her advice. Trübsee turned out to be the best part of our visit. The stunning lake, mountain scenery, and peaceful atmosphere made for a far more enjoyable experience than the summit itself. In hindsight, we wish we had spent even more time there. The scenery at Mount Titlis is still spectacular, but with several attractions unavailable and construction ongoing, I felt I wasn't able to experience it at its best. I only wish I had visited at another time, once the construction and upgrades are completed, as I'm sure the overall experience would be much more enjoyable and offer better value for money.
- Staff is insolent, unfriendly, and annoyed - Titlis is one big construction site - no visitor platform or only with additional booking and additional costs - ice grotto closed, with no mention of this at booking - rotating gondola not available, also no mention of this at booking - toilets at the valley station stink to high heaven. The staff on this: "We know that the toilets stink, of course." - We had fun on the Stanserhorn, Pilatus, Rigi, Stoos and Klewenalp. The Titlis, on the other hand, was a disaster. Why do I have to give a point for the review that the Titlis does not deserve??
It was Amazing and unforgettable experience. Snow capped mountains, cable car and a view of falls an natural lakes, mind blowing.
Beautiful and fun day! I think a lot of the snow was gone because of the warm weather The scenery was amazing!
Visited here on the morning on June-25, 2026. Saw blue flags atop poles leading to it advertising Titlis to be #thepeaktobe. This entire experience is an ~7 min walk from the Terrace hotel in Engleberg. After crossing a bridge across a steam, we entered the entrance complex and took a black coloured cable car/ gondola ride passing multiple cows feeding on the pastures in the valley below then alighted to find Schmuggli - the grey mule mascot before boarding a 2nd cable car ride passing by the bluest ponds & icy white glaciers atop the dark brown cliffs. Then boarded the red coloured Titlis rotair & finally reached the glacier plateau. Next was the ice flyer ride leading to the snow tubing area where I snow tubed twice. Over here you can ask the attendants / staff to spin your tube just before sliding down. Then rode the ice flyer back again for the cliff walk and finally explored the ice grotto which has ice sculptures inside & is maintained at negative temperatures. Since we visited during the Western Europe summer heatwave period, we didn't need any thermals or jackets whatsoever & some women in my group were also able to make it with knee length dresses! Finally reverse commuted all the way out. The most commercialised peak I've visited.
We have done almost everything around Luzern but hadn't been here. We were put off by the crowds and building work. We had bought a Lucerne Pass so this trip was 'free' so we decided to come by train to Engelbert but at lunchtime to avoid the crowds. This worked very well as when we arrived we were amongst only a handful of other visitors. We got our cable cars straight away and were quickly at the summit. We did the ice cave, the cliff walk and suspension bridge but didn't do the ice flyer. We also went to the top of the tower which gives the best views. There was cloud above us but the views down and to the distant mountains were clear. Unfortunately there is building work until 2029 so once you leave the ground station don't expect many facilities. The signage is also poor. We did manage to walk across snow and I definitely felt the thinner air in my breathing. I really enjoyed the visit but I preferred the experience of going up other mountains more. There were a couple of large groups who slightly detracted from the experience as well.
We took a day trip to Titlis, as the impressive Titlis Tower is now open. Impressive facility at 3000 meters above sea level! We were at the summit early in the morning, which was definitely worth it. There is so much to do in this area that a day trip is not enough. Next time, I will take an extended weekend. In winter, this is a great ski area, and in summer, a hiking area. Ambiance: wonderful Price / performance: not cheap, but worth it Highly recommended: absolutely
Family visit in May. That day we went up to snowed. The logistics is easy and very organized. We recommend full clothes from cold, as la on top is very cold (below zero). It has a restaurant with very good prices. Worth a visit completw
