Took to the water with Grahame, he was a really kind guy, good instructor and although we couldn't see Fuji due to the weather - Grahame gave me loads of interesting information. It is a beautiful and still lake for kayaking, he was also able to give me great recommendations for my limited time there. This was a welcome break from the business of Tokyo and it makes you slow down and appreciate the moment you're in! Thank you Graham, a unique and humbling moment.
I think you’re right. Being out on the lake is a great reset, and who doesn’t need to recharge their batteries from time to time! Thank you for joining me on the lake. We spent a very pleasant afternoon out on the water in the presence of Fuji-san. And thanks for taking the time to write something too. Much appreciated! Best of luck in Tokyo! Cheers, Grahame
We had a fantastic time kayaking at Kawaguchiko! The scenery was beautiful despite not getting to see Fuji, and the experience was made better by our guide CJ. He was knowledgeable about the area, shared lots of fun facts along the way and was patient with beginners. Highly recommend this tour!
Even when Fuji is being a little shy, it can still be great to get out and see the lake. I really enjoyed it my friends! Safe travels
It was a wonderful experience. Not only was kayaking great fun, but the view of Mount Fuji from the water was absolutely breathtaking. Grahame, our outstanding guide, took plenty of time to tell us about Mount Fuji and about Japan as a whole. It was both an active and an educational experience. Highly recommended!
I can't take all the credit - having Mt. Fuji sitting in the background does make my job a lot easier. As does spending time with good people! It was a pleasure being on the water with you guys and having a good ol' Fuji/Japan chat. Thanks for taking the time to write something and best wishes in all your future endeavours! Cheers, Grahame
We had an amazing canoeing experience! The activity was incredible, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The views were stunning throughout the whole trip, making it an unforgettable experience. A special thanks to our guide, CJ, who was fantastic. He was friendly, professional, and made everything so easy from start to finish. We felt well taken care of the entire time. I highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting the area. It’s definitely something you shouldn’t miss!
It makes me happy to hear you had a great time on the lake with me. I had so much fun sharing stories about this area with you all I hope your travels here are all just as special as your time on Lake Kawaguchi;)
We had a fantastic kayaking trip on the lake with the four of us. The scenery was beautiful, and the experience was made even better by our guide, Grahame. He was great company throughout the trip and shared nice stories and insights about Mount Fuji and the surrounding area, making the adventure both fun and educational. Our kids had a splendid time paddling and playing with the water, which made the outing memorable for our family. Thank you, Grahame, for such a wonderful experience. And yes—Len accepted your invitation and hopes to come back one day to lend a hand! We highly recommend this kayaking tour to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable, and personal experience around Mount Fuji.
Thanks so much for your lovely review:) It was great meeting you all, and I'm really glad the kids enjoyed themselves. They certainly seemed to have just as much fun playing with the water as admiring Mt. Fuji! The job offer is still open for young Len... although I should mention the salary hasn't improved:) Thanks again, and I hope to see you all back on Lake Kawaguchiko one day. All the best, Grahame
We had made a last minute booking at NatureBase and we were received very pleasantly by Graham. He took all the time for us and we could ask him anything about the area and Japan. It was a wonderful kayak trip and a nice highlight on our trip!
Thanks so much:) I really enjoyed meeting you all and chatting about the local area, and all sorts of other things! And it's great to hear kayaking was one of your highlights. It was a peaceful morning:) Thanks again. It was a real pleasure meeting you and your family! Cheers, Grahame
Our guide CJ was amazing and very friendly. I would highly recommend. We were very lucky as we got clear views of Mount Fuji
Thank you so much for your review! It means a lot to me to hear you would recommend this tour to others. Thanks again for bringing the good vibes and clear weather;)
We (My son and I) had so much fun kayaking on Lake Kawaguchiko on June 5th, even without seeing Mount Fuji. The weather and views were gorgeous, and our guide gave a great tour with lots of interesting facts. Our guide said he'd email us photos from the tour, but we haven't received them and can't contact him directly. Is there a way to have him reach out to us?
I'm really glad to hear you both enjoyed your kayaking tour. Thank you for writing something. I sent the photos on June 5th, so would you mind checking your spam or junk folder first? Sometimes the email ends up there. If you still can't find them, please send us a quick email at naturabase.2022@gmail.com and I'll happily send the photos again. Looking forward to hearing from you! Cheers, Grahame
Grahame was our tour guide for the kayaking trip. He is a very chill guide. He was extremely patient and always willing to answer any question. We had an awesome time and experience. More details for those who may be planning their own trip: Since our trip was in Jun during the rainy season, we waited till we arrived in the country to finalize the kayak tour day. Make sure to give yourself some free days in your schedule so you can adjust for the rainy days. We stayed at the Fuji Lake Hotel and was able to walk the <1 min to NaturaBase for the tour. NaturaBase provides a water bottle, waterproof phone pouch and slippers if you need to get to the kayak area. So if your hotel is further and you need to walk over in sneakers, no worries, you can use their water proof slippers without getting your shoes and socks wet. We have 3 people in our family, so we did a double and a single kayak. The waters are relatively calm. If we had known this and known that Grahame was a super chill tour guide, we would have done 3 singles and would have been comfortable with our 13 year old in her own kayak (we have kayaked many times before). If you are new to kayaking, Grahame did provide some instructions and I imagine would have zero problems lending a hand. Our tour was 90 minutes. Due to our teenage daughter not being able to get up any earlier, we took the 10am tour time. Even in Jun, it was hot out on the water. If you are able, I would recommend the 7am tour time. Our tour finished up at 11:30, we had enough time to find lunch, walk to the main bus station and catch a train to the Fuji Q Highland park for the rest of the afternoon.
It was such a pleasure having you all out on the lake! Your daughter was a natural, the way she got stuck in with the paddle and just went for it. Loved it:) Good shout on the weather front too, June really does love to throw a bit of everything at us. But those mixed days are often the best ones, the light on the water can be incredible once the clouds start to break. Anyway, I hope you all keep having brilliant adventures together. Please come back and see us again sometime. Next time we'll definitely get your daughter into her own kayak, I reckon she's more than ready for it! Really appreciate you taking the time to write something, I know how busy life gets! All the best, Grahame
Our kayaking trip was wonderful and Graham was an amazing guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about Japan and the Mt. Fuji area. He captured amazing photos of us that we will cherish forever. After our kayaking trip we rented bikes from the same location which was convenient and cost efficient.
Thanks so much for that. It was really lovely meeting you both, and I’m so glad you had a good time out on the lake. I’m also happy the photos turned out well. They’re the kind of memories that are nice to look back on years later. Hope the bike ride was good fun too:) Cheers, Grahame
