Speciaal heb ik deze tour ontworpen voor toeristen die goede historische informatie willen weten over erfgoed in Anuradhapura , boeddhisme , boeddhistische cultuur , spirituele ervaring en goed fietsen . Ik heb speciaal een aantal dorpswegen toegevoegd aan deze tour om rond te kijken met de natuur , planten, wat vogels , dieren . De tourtijd verandert afhankelijk van de groepsleden. dit is een historische heilige bo-boom (Ficus religiosa) in de Mahamewuna-tuin in anuradapura
Lovamahapaya is een gebouw gelegen tussen Ruwanweliseya en Sri Mahabodiya in de oude stad Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Het staat ook bekend als het Brazen Palace of Lohaprasadaya omdat het dak bedekt was met bronzen tegels.
De Ruwanweli Maha Seya, ook bekend als de swarnamali maha seya (letterlijk 'de Grote Thupa'), is een stoepa (een halfronde structuur met relikwieën) in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Twee kwart gallons of één Dona van de relikwieën van de Boeddha zijn vastgelegd in de stoepa, waardoor het de grootste verzameling van zijn relikwieën ter wereld is. Het werd gebouwd door de Singalese koning Dutugemunu in c. 140 voor Christus, die koning van Sri Lanka werd na een oorlog waarin de Chola-koning Elāra (Ellalan) werd verslagen.

De Samadhi Boeddha is een beroemd standbeeld gelegen in het Mahamevnāwa-park in Anuradapura. De houding van meditatie geassocieerd met zijn eerste verlichting. Dit beeld is 2,30 meter hoog en uitgehouwen uit granietmarmer.
Abhayagiri Vihāra was een belangrijke kloosterlocatie van het Theravada-, Mahayana- en Vajrayana-boeddhisme in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.

Sandakada Pahana, ook bekend als Maansteen, is een uniek kenmerk van de architectuur van het oude Sri Lanka. Het is een uitvoerig gesneden halfronde stenen plaat, meestal onderaan trappen en ingangen geplaatst. De sandakada pahana werd voor het eerst gezien in de laatste fase van de Anuradhapura-periode en evolueerde tijdens de Polonnaruwa-, Gampola- en Kandyan-periode. Volgens historici symboliseert de sandakada pahana de cyclus van Samsāra in het boeddhisme.
Deze gigantische kunstmatige vijver genaamd “Eth Pokuna” of “Olifantenvijver” ligt dichtbij Lankaramaya in Anuradhapura. Dit is een rechthoekige vijver, 159 meter lang, 52,7 meter breed en 9,5 meter diep, met een capaciteit van 75.000 kubieke meter water. Eth Pokuna betekent letterlijk “De Olifantenvijver” vanwege zijn omvang. Dit maakt deel uit van het landschap van het enorme Abhayagriya-klooster dat zich over 500 hectare uitstrekt. De tank is gemaakt van grote stenen blokken die schuin op de muren zijn gestapeld. Er zijn 3 trappen naar de bodem, aan de zuid-, noord- en oostzijde. De bodem is niet verhard.

Een Brits koloniaal gebouw uit 1937 biedt een geschikte koninklijke locatie voor enkele schatten die in Jetavanarama zijn gevonden.

The tour with Ajee was amazing! You can choose your pace so we went at a very relaxed pace and ended up spending all day around the heritage site. He provided snacks, coffee, water and lunch which was all delicious. He is very passionate about Buddhism and gave us lots of information. Sometimes he speaks fast but you can ask any questions and he is happy to answer or repeat. It is a shared group tour. You can also book directly through him via WhatsApp +94 71 925 3542
We spent more than 4 hours with Ajee today. Pick-up 2 steps from the site with bikes. There were 5 of us with our grown children and he was particularly attentive to answering all our questions about the site, about Buddhism, and even about some first meditation exercises for one of our daughters! Ultra interesting guided tour to understand the site and the history, very pleasant bike ride, stop to drink because it was very hot. Frankly to be recommended with your eyes closed. Thanks again

We had such a great tour with Ajee, he is very flexible to work around your timeframe for the day. His passion and knowledge of the world heritage sites and Buddhism is exceptional. We also were treated to a delicious Sri Lankan morning tea and lunch to finish off the tour. We biked around 10km but you can do more or less. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Very good tour. Ajee is very knowledgeable about everything. He could answer any and all questions. His English is amazing and he seems to really care about all his customers. He supplied delicious snacks and even an amazing lunch at a local restaurant. Highly recommend if you want true knowledge about Sri Lankan Buddhism and a very intimate tour that can cater to any needs.

Ajee is full of knowledge and an amazing guide. We asked him a million questions and he always had an answer and with very good English as well. He continually gave us water and made sure we weren’t too hot or hungry and even took us to an amazing local spot for lunch after. 10/10

Ajee offered us a very beautiful discovery of Anuradhapura, both in terms of the temples and their history; he helped us better understand the philosophy of Buddhism. We tasted typical dishes. We had an excellent day with Adee; he adapted to our pace. He has extensive knowledge of architecture, history, and Buddhist culture. Going from temple to temple by bike is a fun way to keep the kids entertained. Adee is a very friendly and cool person. We recommend him 200%, he is the best.
