Een groene uitsteeksel die boven het Atheense stadsbeeld uitsteekt, de berg Lycabettus is een van de meest verbluffende natuurlijke kenmerken van de stad. Tijdens deze avontuurlijke wandeltour van 3 uur maak je je meest comfortabele schoenen vast en ga je op avontuur. Terwijl je klimt, zal je gids je scholen in de unieke mythologische kennis van de berg; nadat je de top hebt beklommen, heb je ook de kans om rond enkele van de meest traditionele wijken van Athene te wandelen.

Terwijl we naar beneden lopen, stoppen we bij het Dexameni-plein. Dexameni betekent cisterne in het Grieks, het plein heeft zijn naam te danken aan een Romeinse cisterne, het gebied lag voor een arbeiderswijk, na 1930 vlogen er veel kunstenaars, dichters en schrijvers rond. We konden stoppen voor een kop koffie in het historische café daar dat het ontmoetingspunt voor de kunstenaars was.
Kolonaki-plein verbergt een geheim dat alleen de lokale bevolking kent, we ontdekken het samen
We gaan ook naar de neoklassieke trilogie van Athene
We gaan naar het oude parlement en via de Kolokotroni-straat eindigen we onze rondleiding op het Monastiraki-plein.

Interesting tour to obtain panoramic views of the city and explore areas outside the usual tourist routes. It also includes explanations about the history and current situation of Athens. Highly recommended.

Eleni was very knowledgeable and had some great insights into Athens and the history of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. The view from the mountain was breathtaking.
We were tired and it was hot and we didn't end up enjoying the overall idea or experience mostly due to that. The guide was knowledgeable but was a bit informal compared to our other experiences. Basically we just had too much heat and were exhausted.

Beautiful view of the city, good restaurant, tiring climb up to the funicular but as soon as you reach the top together with the church you can enjoy a beautiful panorama. Recommended to go there in the evening.
Amazing view. We were there for sunset and was crowded, as expected. Was not easy to find the fanicular car. A nice workout to get to the base of the hill. Worth the effort & a to do while visiting Athens
