Klimmen Mount Longonot levert trekkers af met een interessante en inspirerende wandeling die culmineert in een van de beste en opwindende uitzichten in Kenia. Stel je eigen tempo in terwijl je de vulkaan beklimt, loop rond de rand van de krater en verken Lake Navaisha, met de optie om een boottocht te boeken bij het meer Naivasha.

Mount Longonot Day Trip hiking Safari vertrekt dagelijks vanuit Nairobi na het ontbijt en de rit duurt ongeveer een uur. Je begint de instemming op 6000 voet. Zoals alle goede bergopwaartse wandelingen, zal het je sussen in een gevoel van valse veiligheid met een langzame zachte stijging naar de eerste piek. Dit geeft je de kans om je longen en ledematen vrij te maken voor het tweede deel, wat het meest geweldige is. Aan het einde van elke sectie is er een rustpunt waar u zich kunt voorbereiden op het volgende deel van uw reis. Je zult vroeg zijn begonnen om de hitte van de zon te vermijden, maar tegen de tijd dat je het einde van het tweede deel bereikt, zou je je eigen warmte hebben gegenereerd. Deze wandeling is geen gemakkelijke wandeling maar is haalbaar voor mensen van gemiddelde fitheid. Onze gids zal je naar de top begeleiden. Terwijl je jezelf over de rand van de krater gooit, is je beloning het geweldige gezicht van Naivasha en de Great Rift Valley en je weet dat het allemaal de moeite waard was. De hele tour is slechts ongeveer 8-9 km lang maar erg steil, zodat de rondrit van park gate - Longonot Peak - park gate ongeveer 5 uur wandelen duurt. Wandelaars moeten redelijk fit zijn om deel te nemen aan deze wandeling. Het prachtige uitzicht vanaf de kraterrand zelf is echter elke pijnlijke stap en moeite waard. Deze dag wandelen is van matige moeilijkheid met steil klimmen. Terrein heeft fijn stof, met los grind in sommige delen van de wandeling. Neem comfortabele wandelschoenen, lichte kleding en drinkwater mee. Als je van de berg afkomt, neem je een pauze op het hoofdkantoor van Mount Longonot National Park, voordat je naar Lake Navaisha gaat, waar je de mogelijkheid hebt om lunch te kopen in het Marina Camp aan het meer. Boek desgewenst een rondvaartboot op Lake Navaisha, waar honderden vogelsoorten gedijen naast een populatie nijlpaarden. Na uw tijd aan Lake Navaisha wordt deze tour afgesloten met een transfer terug naar uw hotel in Nairobi.

A perfect trip with Gracepatt Ecotours, even the day before the contact and booking with Grace was perfect. Our driver Titus picked us up at 6:00 in the morning on time from our private accommodation (at friends) in Nairobi. Nobody was on the tour except the two of us. After a very pleasant ride with Titus to Longonok National Park we started at 8:00 a.m. with the local guide Lewis on the Longonok. Lewis took us to the summit and told us a lot about the plants and animals in the park, about the volcano and much more. We were very happy that we started so early and were already back around noon when it got really hot. Afterwards we continued with Titus to Lake Navasha - the boat trip is highly recommended and worth every shilling (per person 3000 shillings, 25 USD). Titus was so super kind to lend us the 6000 shillings for the boat tour until the next day, because we had assumed that we could pay for the boat tour by card. The return trip with Titus was also very pleasant and we were back in Nairobi after a beautiful eventful tour about 17:00. Thank you Titus, thank you Grace!
What an experience! Kelvin was an amazing guide, trekking us up the beautiful Mt Longonot. He pointed out various wildlife along with educating us on the trees and flora in this area. He was also a great sport in taking pictures of us at the summit. We enjoyed every minute of this tour (ok so the last few steps were probably not enjoyed because we were exhausted!!:)) This is a great tour that everyone should check out! Spectacular! As well as the hiking we went on a boat trips seeing lots of wildlife. Both of the guides for each section were very knowledge and Stephen knew all the best pla especially to go resulting in a wonderful lunch by the lake side

It was a great day from the drive out to Mt Longonot to the climb, reasonable fitness and head for heights as it is an all 4's climb if you want to complete the climb up to the peak and walk the whole way around the rim.

Kelvin was an excellent driver w/ nice sedan, Kennedy-Darius was an caring guide of Mt. Longonot. You can expect great view of the Rift Valley from the viewpoint and from the top of Mt. Longonot. If you prefer to go around the crater of Mt. Longonot, which takes 5-6 hours, ask upon booking. At Lake Naivasha, you'll have great chance of seeing many birds, hippos, giraffes, and zebras.
