9 AM PICK-UP BIJ AYERS HOUSE Ontmoet je Gids en medewandelaars op deze rustige en handige plek in het hart van de stad, met een prachtige tuin, weg van het stadsverkeer. TIPS OVER HOE JE NAAR AYERS HOUSE REIST Het is ongeveer 15 minuten lopen van Adelaide Railway Station. Als u liever uw stappen bewaart voor de wandeling, neem dan de gratis tram (BTANIC service richting BOTANIC GARDENS) vanaf het station en stap uit bij de BOTANIC GARDENS TRAM STOP (einde van de tramlijn). EEN BEETJE GESCHIEDENIS OP AYERS HOUSE Gebouwd in 1846 als een bescheiden woning, werd het in 1855 gekocht door Sir Henry Ayers, die het omvormde tot een groots herenhuis van hardsteen. Tegenwoordig is het erkend als een State Heritage Place. LET OP: Dit is alleen uw opstapplaats, de tour omvat GEEN bezoek binnen.
Terwijl we door de Australische inheemse bush beginnen te wandelen, houd je ogen open voor verrassingen in het wild terwijl je er van je Gids over leert! Spot koala’s die chillen in de boomtoppen, en als we geluk hebben, vangen we misschien een glimp op van een kangoeroe die voorbij waggelt of een mierenegel. De kreken en rotspoelen van het park bruisen van het leven: kikkers, gekko’s, skinken en zelfs kleine draken noemen deze plek hun thuis. En niet te vergeten de gevederde locals : van de levendige regenbooglorikeets tot de brutale kookaburras, de lucht leeft met hun roep. Geniet van de dramatische kloven en steile rotswanden die oplichten bij het ochtendlicht, evenals het uitzicht op Adelaide in de verte vanaf uitkijkpunten. In het seizoen zie je de eerste, tweede en derde waterval van Morialta, die allemaal over indrukwekkende kliffen van kwartsiet stromen. Neem de tijd om te luisteren naar het zacht stromende water in deze schilderachtige omgeving langs Fourth Creek.

SUGGESTIES OM UW DAG VOORT TE ZETTEN Hoewel het GEEN deel uitmaakt van deze tour, kan de Adelaide Botanic Garden een geweldige plek zijn voor u om de rest van uw dag door te brengen. Met zijn hoofdingang gelegen aan de overkant van Ayers House, deze openbare oase beschikt over diverse planten Collecties en verschillende belangrijke attracties, waaronder : • The Palm House : een prachtig gerestaureerde kas uit het jaar 1877. • Bicentennial Conservatory : een indrukwekkend modern bouwwerk met tropische planten. • Amazonewaterleliepaviljoen : de thuisbasis van de gigantische Amazonewaterlelies. • Santos Museum of Economic Botany : een museum gewijd aan het praktische gebruik van planten. • First Creek Wetland : een functioneel wetland ontworpen voor het onderwijs. Er zijn cafés beschikbaar voor casual dining, evenals een restaurant voor een fine-dining ervaring. Toegang tot de Adelaide Botanic Garden is gratis.

- HIKE BELANGRIJKE FEITEN EN CIJFERS. Dit is een matig moeilijke wandeling : we leggen ongeveer 6 km af in 4 uur, met een stijgingspercentage van 283m. U zult enkele steile hellingen en oneffen oppervlakken tegenkomen, die een gematigd niveau van fitness en mobiliteit vereisen.
- GESCHIKTHEIDSEISEN. Wandelaars moeten een gematigd niveau van mobiliteit en fysieke fitheid hebben.
- MEDISCHE BEPERKINGEN. Deze wandeling is strikt niet geschikt voor wandelaars met onopgeloste rug-, knie- of enkelblessures, hartproblemen of andere ernstige medische aandoeningen en zorgen.
- ZONBESCHERMING. Voor de veiligheid in de zon raden we lange mouwen en een broek, een hoed met brede rand en zonnebrandcrème aan.
- WAT MEE TE NEMEN. Draag passende wandelschoenen of een stevige joggingbroek. Overweeg om een kleine dagrugzak mee te nemen voor persoonlijke spullen. Neem in het belang van duurzaamheid een hervulbare waterfles mee.

This tour exceeded my expectations: Morialta Falls easily outshines the crowded Mt Lofty trail (and yes, you still get city views, but in a more peaceful setting). Marco was really knowledgeable and through his friendly and engaging nature, connected all of us in the group to make it a shared experience. The hike was a good distance, safe, easy and the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning. I'd book it again!
We had a wonderful guided hike at Morialta Falls. The hike took around 3–4 hours, with platforms along the way where we could stop for a quick snack. The waterfalls were massive in July, and we had beautiful weather and amazing views throughout. Our guide, Marco, was helpful, welcoming and made everyone feel comfortable. He also took some great photos for the group. A lovely way to explore Morialta, highly recommended!
Marco is amazing. Knowledgable, thoughtful, accomodating and great storyteller. Perfect leader for this wonderful hike. He laid out our hike plan and gave us info and history of the area. The hike was wonderful. Gorgeous views and we saw kookaburras, kangaroos and Koalas, which was an unexpected surprise. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Did this tour as a solo traveler. The pick-up from the city was smooth. On the trail, the pace was just right, and there were plenty of chances to take photos and soak it all in. Marco made everything easy and explained things in a clear, friendly way we spotted several fairywrens 2 kookaburra and 1 echidna!*
Marco is a very welcoming and knowledgeable guide. Plenty of snacks and water was provided for the whole hike. The small group size was perfect for interaction to learn more about each other. Shown hidden gems that we wouldn’t have known otherwise. The hike itself is moderate and described exactly how it is in the booking. If I had more time in Adelaide i would book the Deep Creek hike tour as well because I loved this one! Thanks Marco!
It was a beautiful hike Marco is very knowledgeable about the terrain, the trees, and plants along the trails. We saw two koalas in their natural habitat. It was amazing! I would totally recommend this hike with Marco, you’ll be in good hands.
Such a pleasant way to spend a half day. The track was manageable and the views were lovely from start to finish. Our guide shared lots of helpful info about the plants, animals, and the park itself. It felt like walking with a friend who knows the area well. Would happily do it again. Recommended!
Really enjoyed this hike. It covered a good mix of lookout points and quieter spots along the trail. The guide was down to earth, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable. It was a great balance of walking, talking, and taking photos. I left feeling like I’d learned something new without it being too heavy.
I recently joined this hiking tour to Morialta Conservation Park, and it was easily one of the highlights of Adelaide. If you want to escape the city and see some incredible nature, this is the tour to book. The Experience: We arrived at the park ready to go, and the scenery did not disappoint. The views of the deep gorges and striking rock formations were spectacular. We were lucky enough to visit when the waterfalls were flowing, which made for some stunning photos! The Wildlife: This is a true paradise for nature lovers. I was hoping to see some local wildlife, and the park delivered. We spotted koalas (my personal favorite!), kangaroos, and a huge variety of colorful birds. The guide was fantastic at pointing them out and sharing stories about the local flora and fauna that I never would have known on my own. The Atmosphere: What I really appreciated was the small group size. Being capped at just 6 hikers made the experience feel very personal and unhurried—it felt more like hiking with friends than a commercial tour. It was a memorable adventure from start to finish. Hot Tip: I had such a great time that I’m already looking into their other offering, the "Deep Creek Hike: Trails and Tales with a Foreign Flair." At first, I was unsure to book this hike because there were no ratings or reviews yet, but this guided hike exceeded my expectations. Marco and Barbara are very friendly and knowledgable guides who showed me the beautiful Morialta Falls, as well as the unique flora of South Australia. We even had the chance to see two koalas! The hike was also very well organised: they provided snacks during the hike and arranged for transportation by car from downtown Adelaide to the hike's starting point. I highly recommend this guided hike!
