Je wordt wakker onder de kersenbomen in Montreal's Chinatown, een vreemdelingenjas over je schouders gedrapeerd en een portemonnee erin die je de dood in kan jagen. Al Capone's medewerkers vergeven fouten niet. Volg de verborgen sporen van het droogleggingsverleden van de stad en vind een uitweg voordat iemand je vindt. Deze self-guided mystery quest neemt je mee op een 90 minuten durende wandeling door de levende geschiedenis van Montreal uit 1920. Met de Questo-app op je smartphone stel je een noir-verhaal samen over Chinatown, de oude Wallen, Monument National en de Place des Arts. Los cryptische puzzels op, ontcijfer geheime berichten en ontdek de ondergrondse cabaretscene die bloeide terwijl de rest van Noord-Amerika droogviel. Exploring Montreal without a guide is a huge mistake. An experienced tour guide is essential to hear and witness the hidden details.

I did the quest with a friend during a monthly appointment, we liked the experience that made us observe and learn a little more about our hometown. I liked the concept and during a trip I shared the experience with my family. As there are in many cities, it is worth looking at when you move!

Although the first location didn’t seem to be accurately indicated on the map, we were able to find it as I was familiar with the area and the description of what we were looking for. This was our first experience and we liked it. It gave us an excuse to take a nice long walk in the city, while learning more about the history of some buildings and area. It took us around and hour and a half to complete, which was just perfect for us. We needed to use a few hints, which were not that easy to figure out, but were able to complete all the tasks and enjoyed ourselves.

First, in order to start the game (AFTER buying from viator) they forced you to add more "gems" (points in game) because my gems is too LITTLE to start the game! And the starting point is in a very sketchy area where homeless people sleep/ hang out. And when I got in the 3rd location, I realized my battery is getting low.. so I tried to download the game from my other point. And they directly log me out from the game altogether and took it as finished! I was unable to continue the game. I felt scammed. Such a pity I have to end my trip in Montreal in a sucky way... I hope you guys be careful, esp if you have girls trip.

This was fun and interesting. This was our first escape game of this nature so it took a little bit to get the hang of the riddles. We’ll do one again in another city.
