Deze tour is een unieke ervaring die bezoekers een echt cultureel begrip biedt. Onze filosofie is geboren uit onze lokale familie die klanten een exclusieve excursie wilde geven die anders is dan conventionele tours. We streven ernaar onze klanten een buitengewone ervaring te bieden door hen volledig onder te dompelen in deze levendige cultuur. Deze tour begint met een wandeling naar een verborgen biologische koffieboerderij. Hier hebben we de kans om kapucijner witgezichtapen en brulapen te ontmoeten, die beide frequente bezoekers van het gebied zijn. Na een tijdje op de boerderij te hebben doorgebracht, gaan we richting het bovenste deel van de bergen, langs de oorspronkelijke centrale stad Monteverde. Hier vestigden de Quakers zich in de jaren 1950 en stichtten de kaasfabriek en de Quakerschool. We nemen dan een lift terug naar uw hotel.

Ontdek het hart van Costa Ricaanse koffie tijdens deze meeslepende en authentieke tour in de bergen van Monteverde. Wandel door weelderige biologische koffievelden terwijl je elke stap van het proces leert - van planten en oogsten tot drogen in de zon, branden en malen. Geleid door gepassioneerde lokale producenten biedt deze hands-on ervaring inzicht in traditionele en duurzame koffieproductie. Geniet aan het einde van een gepersonaliseerde proeverij van vers gezette koffie terwijl u praat met uw gastheren. Ideaal voor reizigers die op zoek zijn naar een echte, off-the-beaten-path ervaring die cultuur, natuur en smaak combineert.
Na wat tijd doorgebracht te hebben op de biologische koffieboerderij, gaan we richting het bovenste deel van de bergen, langs de oorspronkelijke centrale stad Monteverde. Hier vestigden de Quakers zich in de jaren 1950 en stichtten de kaasfabriek en de Quakerschool. Ook nemen we een kijkje bij CASEM de Cooperativa de Artesanas de Santa Elena y Monteverde, opgericht in 1982 door een groep van acht vrouwelijke kunstenaars. Het is een ambachtelijke coöperatie zonder winstoogmerk die zich inzet voor het verbeteren van het economisch en sociaal welzijn van lokale vrouwelijke kunstenaars. De CASEM winkel en werkplaats, gelegen in het hart van Monteverde, is een showcase voor unieke, lokaal geproduceerde handwerk. Deze ambachten omvatten decoratieve wandkleden, keramiek, kleding, tassen, sieraden, speelgoed en houtsnijwerk.

Lovely family owned farm with very friendly people. The tour is kid-friendly. And the empanadas and coffee at the end are amazing.
We could not have asked for a better experience - it was great! Justin was our guide. He was very knowledgeable, patient and wanted us to enjoy our visit to the cloud forest. We told him our biggest wish for the visit was to see the famous quetzal bird and he made our wish come true! Magical! We saw many other birds and learnt so much about the cloud forest. Thank you Justin.

I stayed in Monteverde for a month and while there, I traveled within Monteverde and to many other cities. I used Faro Travel Costa Rica and was very pleased with the services provided as the staff were always professional, punctual, kind, friendly and helpful (especially Andres!).
