Molen, melkveehouderijen & elektrische fietstocht op het platteland
Beschrijving
Kleine groepsreis - Max 10 deelnemers Een korte veerbootrit en een makkelijke fietstocht door het noorden van de stad en we bereiken de Waterlands, het platteland net buiten Amsterdam. Al snel zijn het koeien en boerenborden die vers gemaakt ijs of melk aanbieden. We bespreken water- en landbeheer, bekijken een old-school windmolen, leggen uit waarom Nederlanders zo fietsgek zijn en hoe ze deze paden tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog gebruikten op zoek naar de goederen die ze nodig hadden om te overleven. Onderweg zijn er volop fotomomenten als we door een paar dorpjes varen en stoppen om het allemaal in ons op te nemen. Omdat Nederland relatief vlak is, hoeft men niet in topvorm te zijn om deel te nemen en de elektrische fiets maakt het een eitje. We brengen de meeste tijd buiten de stad door voor een ontspannen fietstocht.

Om de stad uit te komen nemen we een veerboot aan de achterkant van het centraal station van Amsterdam
Een van de negen overgebleven windmolens in Amsterdam, we zullen deze bekijken als we de stad in noordelijke richting uitgaan.
Tijdens deze excursie bezoeken we een paar dorpen in het noorden en maken we een ontspannende cruise door de velden van de boeren.
Een ander mooi dorp heeft een mooie kerk in het centrum van de stad. Af en toe houden we een korte pauze om de kerk te beklimmen en de omgeving in je op te nemen (afhankelijk van beschikbaarheid).
Ons laatste dorp geeft ons een prachtig uitzicht op de haven voordat we terugkeren naar Amsterdam Noord.
We komen terug naar Amsterdam en stoppen om een voormalige scheepswerf met een belangrijke geschiedenis te bekijken. In totaal zullen we ongeveer 90 minuten - 2 uur fietsen en ongeveer 15 km afleggen

Great tour. Would do the longer 5-6h tour next time. So much fun getting out of the city and visiting the countryside Just need to be able to add a beer or coffee stop to make it even better Bikes were so good, power if needed but really new and nice to ride Kevin our guide struggled with English a bit as he is originally from the US (joke), but seriously he was super funny & nice and really made a huge effort to get to know everyone and regularly checked in to see if all was well. Would highly recommend this tour and perhaps consider the longer tour as 2.5 hours flew past really quickly.

Lovely trip to the Amsterdam countryside! Beautiful route, easy central location for departure/arrivals, comfortable bikes. Definitely worth the price. Guide was friendly and shared interesting facts along the way, but was new to the city/country and so couldn't answer questions if they were outside the script. I've noticed this throughout Amsterdam, as there are so many international and young folks that finding a local or more experienced guide is difficult. You will enjoy a great day with Those Amsterdames!

On the guide note: it's true she's newer to Amsterdam, but most of our guides have actually called NL home for 20+ years, with several having become Dutch themselves (and a few who were born here). That mix is something we're proud of — it means real depth, not just script-reading. Those Amsterdames country side bicycle tour was an excellent afternoon. Our guide Kevin was a lot of fun and super knowledgeable about Amsterdam and the surrounding areas. He truly seemed to enjoy spending a couple hours with us in the tour. It was fun to get out of the hustle of the city and see some nearby villages..best part is stopping for an ice cream!! The e-bikes are easy to ride and the pace was perfect. I can’t wait to go back and book the longer tour with this fine company.
