Mindo een van de mooiste plekken in de buurt van Quito wacht op u!! Geniet van een zeer charmant en onbekend subtropisch regenwoud vanuit het comfort van een aanpasbare en flexibele privédagtour. Fotografeer honderden kolibries die net op je handen landen, toekans en vele andere exotische wezens van heel dichtbij!! Geniet van een spectaculair uitzicht op het "cloud forest" vanuit een kabelbaan, en maak een wandeling door een charmante waterval heiligdom...!!

Mindo – Nambillo is een ecologisch reservaat, met ongeveer 22.000 hectare primair bos. In dit beschermde gebied vinden we een natuurlijk complex van 15 watervallen, elk met een andere hoogte en schoonheid! Uw Gids haalt u om 08.00 uur op bij uw hotel in Quito, om deze fascinerende plek vol wilde dieren te bezoeken!
Eenmaal op 1.900 meter boven zeeniveau zullen kolibries, luchtplanten, orchideeën en andere verrassende exotische soorten onze volle aandacht trekken! Nadat we helemaal door de bochtige weg zijn gegaan, stoppen we bij een Hummingbirds' farm om te genieten van adembenemende ervaringen met deze kleine wezens en het geweldige landschap.
Na het maken van veel foto's en slow-mo video's, ontspan je met een kopje koffie op een lokale koffieplantage. Vervolgens rijdt u naar Mindo dorp, dat is gelegen aan de zuidelijke rand van de Choco / Andes hotspots van biodiversiteit die zich uitstrekt van het zuidwesten van Colombia tot het noordwesten van Ecuador. Het Mindo-gebied heeft internationaal belang voor vogels, dat in 1997 door Birdlife International werd aangewezen als het eerste gebied in Zuid-Amerika. Op dit betoverende groene koninkrijk wacht u een overvloed aan leven! Daarom maak je een kabelbaanrit die door een 530 meter lange kabel gaat, om te genieten van de landschappen aan de andere kant van de bergen!
Na de onvergetelijke kabelbaanrit is het mogelijk om ongeveer 1 uur te wandelen, afhankelijk van uw fysieke omstandigheden, om de mooiste waterval te bezoeken die bekend staat als “Nambillo”, waar u een verfrissende duik kunt nemen! Tijdens uw privérondleiding maakt u kennis met de uitbundige vegetatie van het nevelwoud, het vogelleven en de fascinerende aanpassingen aan het leven in deze bijzondere omgeving.
Je hebt tijd voor de lunch, als je dat nodig acht. Dan krijg je een onvergetelijk en leerzaam dessert op een chocolade-proeverij-tour!
Als er wat tijd over is is het mogelijk om een bezoek te brengen aan een orchideeën- en vlinderkwekerij. Rond 17:30 uur ben je terug in je hotel in Quito. Einde van deze fantastische ervaring op een dag vol prachtige ontdekkingen!

Luis was a fabulous guide. Our day was absolutely the test. We visited the Mindo Cloud Forest and saw the hummingbirds as well as other birds (San Tadeo Birding), visited Mariposas de Mindo for the butterflies. We had a delicious lunch in Mindo. Was a great day!

I love that our tour guide, Deanna, was as passionate about the environment as we were! Because she was so in tune with the experience we were able to see toucans! The entire experience was perfect. We loved the hike to the waterfall and the cable car ride! The Hummingbird Farm was a definite highlight.

This was a terrific one day trip. We did the Hummingbirds, Butterfly area, waterfall hike and the chocolate factory. We had a terrific experience and Ximena was a wonderful guide. Our group was 12 people ranging from 15- 78 and there was enough to do at each location to interest everyone. I would definitely book this experience again on another trip to Ecuador.

Ivan was prompt and professional. He tailored our trip what we wanted to see and do. We saw and did some amazing things. But the highlight was by far the birds and humming birds. He gave us the option of 2 farms and it was well worth going to the more exclusive one! I could have sat there all day. Ivan was a wealth of knowledge and I would highly recommend!

The trip to Mindo was fantastic. We were able to choose from several activities presented by our guide to fill in our day. We chose; a walk to a waterfall, viewing hummingbirds, riding a zip line bicycle, taking a gondola ride and having a chocolate tasting activities. Note that most activities have a small fee associated with them outside of booking the guide. From $5 -&10 dollars. Our favorites were the bird watching where we were surrounded by incredibly diverse and beautiful hummingbirds and chocolate tasting where we were walked through all of the steps required to make chocolate from cocao beans then we tasted various flavors of chocolate as well as other chocolate products. Ximena, our guide led us through all activities and provided tons of insight on the culture and history of the place.

This was our favorite individual day in the Quito area. Our guide Ximena was so knowledgeable and friendly.
