Onze reis begint vanaf Papafragas of het 'vulkanische zwembad' waar we ons een tijdje zullen verwonderen over deze pittoreske locatie, je kunt neerkijken in het heldere turquoise water. Phylakopi dat is onze volgende stop, hier zal u kennismaken met deze prehistorische positie. Een korte rit van Phylakopi brengt ons naar het beroemde Sarakiniko , het unieke 'Lunar Landscape'. De prachtige plek is een van de vele geologische wonderen van het eiland en misschien wel een van de meest gefotografeerde plekken in Cycladen! We nemen een muur langs de inham, zodat u dit unieke strand kunt ervaren en wat foto's kunt maken. Van daaruit reizen we richting Plaka en zijn geplaveide straatjes en steegjes. In de hoofdstad van Milos heeft u de tijd om de traditionele architectuur en het prachtige uitzicht op de zee te bewonderen vanaf de veranda van Panagia Korfiatissa. De volgende stop is het marmeren Romeinse amfitheater. onlangs gerestaureerd.

Papafragas is een cluster van diepzee-inhammen en zeegrotten. Het ligt aan de voet van een ongerept ravijn dat werd gevormd door vulkanische activiteit.
Phylakopi is een nederzetting die dateert uit de Neolithische periode. Tijdens hun opgravingen ontdekten archeologen werktuigen gemaakt van obsidiaan, een vulkanisch glas dat lijkt op graniet. Dat was ook de plaats waar de 'Vrouwe van Phylakopi' werd ontdekt.
Sarakiniko is een inham van puur witte rotsformaties gevormd door vulkaanuitbarstingen. Het is een uniek landschap!
Plaka is een klassieke Cycladische Chora, met witte stenen huizen en bougainvilles, gelegen op 250 meter boven zeeniveau.
Gelegen op een helling onder het pittoreske dorpje Tripiti, is het Oude Theater een goed bewaard gebleven marmeren openluchttheater, ondanks dat het door de jaren heen enigszins geruïneerd is sinds het voor het eerst werd gebouwd tijdens de Hellenistische periode. Het biedt een fantastisch uitzicht, want naast het theater en de nabijgelegen historische catacomben heeft u ook een fantastisch uitzicht op de Egeïsche Zee en de haven van het dorp Klima.

We got to see the most incredible views of Milos! Kostas was the greatest tour guide! He showed us the hidden treasures and took great care of us. Comfortable air conditioned van, a small amount of walking, customized for our group.
There’s a lot of walking, but the history is great. Sarakiniko Beach is incredible to see. Our driver was very friendly and knew so much about Milos.
Kostas was an amazing guide. He was accommodating of everyone, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about showing us all Milos has to offer. He was easy to talk to and it felt like we were good friends by the end of the tour. He went above and beyond by arranging transportation for me to have a special birthday dinner in Plaka that evening, and suggested both a restaurant and foods to try.

West of the Cyclades, apart from the tourist hordes that invade its neighbors, this is Milos. Apart from the geological curiosity of the beach and the cliffs of Sarakiniko, not much to see on this peeled island, fried by the sun and battered by the winds. Ah, yes, of course, this is where French archaeologists found and reunited the two pieces of the famous Venus that sits in the Louvre... Other than that? Well nothing, except the unique charm of small villages like Adamandas or Plaka where white and blue reign, where sipping an ouzo or a Greek coffee under a dais of red bougainvillea contemplating the Mediterranean is an innefable pleasure. Time suddenly stops... To visit in autumn to avoid a merciless sun. The sea is still warm and its waters are still crystal clear. Regular sea and air connections.
