Begin aan een onvergetelijke reis door de wonderen van het Domcomplex van Milaan. Met een gepassioneerde gids kom je de kathedraal binnen met skip-the-line toegang, waardoor lange wachttijden worden vermeden. Wanneer u dit spectaculaire voorbeeld van gotische architectuur betreedt, zult u verbaasd zijn over de ongelooflijke hoeveelheid kunstwerken die het interieur sieren. Dan is het tijd om het hoogste punt van de grootste kathedraal van Italië te bereiken. Met een comfortabele lift gaat u naar het Duomo Terras, vanwaar u een fantastisch 360 graden uitzicht heeft over de gehele skyline van Milaan, met zijn wolkenkrabbers en historische gebouwen. De Duomo is prachtig versierd met 135 torenspitsen en meer dan 3.400 beelden, waaronder historische figuren, waterspuwers, dieren, monsters en draken, allemaal gedomineerd door de 'Madunina', het beroemde gouden beeld van de Maagd Maria. Sta versteld van de geschiedenis van het bouwproces en de legende die verband houdt met de "Heilige Spijker", waarvan wordt aangenomen dat deze afkomstig is van het Ware Kruis van Jezus.
Na de kathedraal en het terras bezoekt u het fascinerende Duomo Museum.
Uiteindelijk kun je de San Gottardo-kerk op eigen gelegenheid bezoeken (toegang inbegrepen bij je ticket).

Guide was knowledgeable and brought illustrations for our education. Difficult to find the meeting place in the circled the piazza for 20 minutes. Almost missed the tour.

We were advised repeatedly to arrive 20 mins early, which we made sure to do. The guide was late, made no mention of this, didn’t introduce herself and was rude beyond any conceivable cultural differences. She was warm with Italian people she knew in passing, suggesting she may not actually like tourists and is in the wrong profession. A guest was late rejoining our group in the Duomo and she made a reference to people not being babies and that she told everyone when to return; it turns out he had gotten lost. The group seemed accordingly a bit tense. The entry cost to the Duomo was 1/4 the price of the tour. If I am to pay 4x for an experience, I expect that it would be professional and welcoming. My reviews are almost always positive and my family travels extensively.
