Om de tour te beginnen, gaan we de Angkor Wat-tempel en de zonsondergang daar zien. Deze enorme tempel werd begin 12e eeuw gebouwd door koning Suryavarman 2. Angkor Wat heeft drie niveaus met vijf hoofdtorens. Angkor Wat is het nationale symbool van Cambodja geworden en staat zelfs op de vlag van het land, omdat het de ziel van het land symboliseert. Vervolgens gaan we de Ta Prohm-tempel bezoeken, bekend als de Tomb Raider-tempel, waarbij de bomen de tempel bedekken. Daarna bezoeken we Angkor Thom City, Elephant Terrace en de Bayon-tempel en stoppen bij de Zuidpoort van Angkor Thom City. Ten slotte gaan we de zonsondergang zien op de Phnom Bakheng-berg.

We gaan Angkor Wat Temple van buiten bekijken en binnen de tempel bekijken met leergeschiedenis door onze lokale deskundige gids. Deze tempel is een vertegenwoordiging van Cambodja en staat op de vlag van Cambodja.

De Bakheng-berg ligt in de buurt van de Angkor Wat-tempel. Het ligt ongeveer 1,5 kilometer ten noordwesten van Angkor Wat. Het is een hindoetempelberg gewijd aan Shiva en werd in de 9e eeuw gebouwd door koning Yasovarman I. Het is de oudste tempel in het Archeologisch Park van Angkor en een van de populairste toeristische attracties in Cambodja. De tempel is gebouwd op een 79 meter hoge heuvel en heeft vijf zandstenen heiligdommen op het hoogste niveau. De heiligdommen zijn gerangschikt in een quincunx-patroon, met één in het midden en één op elke hoek van het niveauvierkant. De tempel is ook omgeven door 108 kleine torens, die grotendeels zijn ingestort. Phnom Bakheng is een populaire plek om de zonsondergang te bekijken, omdat het een panoramisch uitzicht biedt op het archeologische park van Angkor. Het is ook een populaire plek om de zonsopgang te bekijken, maar de uitzichten zijn niet zo mooi als bij Angkor Wat. Als je het Angkor Archeologisch Park bezoekt, raad ik aan om Phnom Bakheng in de late namiddag te bezoeken om de zonsondergang te bewonderen.

I had an incredible experience exploring Angkor Wat with Sun as my private guide. Thom was a wonderful guide, he was welcoming and friendly, spoke English very well and was very knowledgeable on his subject. We really enjoyed the tour, Thom had a very good sense of humour and we had good fun. One of our party of three had some difficulty with mobility, he adapted the tour to suit us all. Afternoon tour was hot…midday was 95*. A lot of steps & walking/hiking for us in our 70s. Sun was informative & patient.

I did the Angkor Wat temples tour by bicycle. It was fantastic. We started out from the Empress Angkor Wat Resort & Spa, rode to Angkor Wat temple, followed by Ta Prohm (aka Tomb Raider) Temple, followed by Bayon Temple then back to Empress in Siem Reap. All in all, the tour took around 6Hrs including a stop for lunch at a nice local restaurant. Distance wise it was approximately 35km of riding, all easy flat and mostly paved. I am a keen cyclist, and typically seek out bike tours when I visit places, this one was great. Besides the riding, Mr Chuop was an excellent guide. I learned a lot about Khmer history and the temples. Thom from "Travel to Inspire" tours was also great, proactively contacting me days before the tour to confirm bike size and pickup arrangements. I highly recommend this tour!

We took this amazing tour yesterday. Was fantastic, very puntual well organized and caring with details. Water and soft drinks in the car. Cold towels after the visits. Sophi, our guide, is awesome. He speaks Spanish very well. Al the time explaining the sites with high enthusiasm. 5 stars !!
