Als de optie is geselecteerd, begin je ervaring met het legendarische bezoek aan het Frida Kahlo Museum, een must voor kunstliefhebbers. Als de optie wordt gekozen, begint u met het bezoek aan het Frida Kahlo Museum. Het is ook bekend als La Casa Azul ("Blauw huis") vanwege de levendige blauwe kleur, het huis dat ze deelde met Diego Rivera. Binnen vind je originele kunstwerken, intieme aandenkens en rijk bewaarde ruimtes die het verhaal van Frida's leven vertellen, haar creatieve geest en haar diepe verbondenheid met de culturele en politieke identiteit van Mexico. Hoewel optioneel, wordt het algemeen beschouwd als een must-see voor iedereen die Mexico-Stad bezoekt.
Eten staat centraal in deze reis. Zorgvuldig samengesteld in samenwerking met de gerenommeerde Mexicaanse chef-kok Abel Hernandez, toont elke proeverij de smaken waar de lokale bevolking echt van houdt. Voor de eerste degustatiestop bezoekt u een lokale markt om te genieten van tostadas die vers worden bereid door oude verkopers.
Voor je laatste hartige stop stap je de Antojitos-markt binnen voor een proeverij van klassieke Mexicaanse antojito’s – verwacht een scala aan kleine hapjes van klassieke gerechten zoals geroosterde quesadilla’s, knapperige gorditas en ceviche, allemaal boordevol frisse, authentieke smaken.
Terwijl u door geplaveide straten en schaduwrijke binnenplaatsen loopt, bezoekt u Parroquia San Juan Bautista, een van de oudste kerken van de stad en een opvallend voorbeeld van koloniale architectuur.
Om met een zoete noot af te sluiten, koel je af met handgemaakt ijs bij de beroemde Fuente de los Coyotes, een van de meest iconische plekken van Coyoacan.
Je vervolgt je tweede stop om een van de meest iconische streetfoods van Mexico-Stad te proeven: een taco al pastor, rechtstreeks uit het spit gesneden, afgewerkt met de zoetheid van ananas. Van daaruit ontdek je een ander buurtrestaurant om te genieten van een torta de milanesa, een knapperige, smaakvolle sandwich waar de lokale bevolking dol op is. Wandel in de namiddag door het hart van Coyoacan op Plaza Hidalgo, een schilderachtig plein met historische gebouwen, lommerrijke bomen en levendige straten. It was horrible. Waste of time waste of a precious vacation day.

It is really sad to book a tour and not get what we were expecting. The day we booked the tour the title read “ Mexico City: Coyoacan Tacos Small Group Tour & Frida Kahlo Museum” and when we started the tour we were told by Paloma that the Frida Kahlo museum was not included. She tried to contact the tour operator and they didn’t offer us any alternative to visit the museum. The reality is that we booked the tour but we were mainly interested in going to the museum so we were disappointed although the food tour with Paloma was really nice. When the tour finished, I contacted viator and the alternatives they offered were paying for other tours with a 5% discount! This is unfair because the tour title read that it was both activities. To make things worse I checked again and the new tour title was “ Mexico City: Coyoacan Tacos Small Group Tour & Optional Frida Kahlo Museum.” This evidently shows that they used a misleading tour title (I can share screenshots from both tour titles). I expect much more from viator that offering me to pay AGAIN.

We’d like to clarify that the tour you booked is one of two versions we offer: 1. Coyoacan Tacos Small Group Tour that ends at the Frida Kahlo Museum (without entry included). 2. Coyoacan Tacos Small Group Tour and a pre-booked Frida Kahlo Museum entry. In your case, the booking was for the first option — the food tour only — which is reflected in the “What’s Included” section of the voucher. That said, we understand that this information appears later in the voucher and isn’t immediately visible during the booking process, which can understandably lead to confusion. We also recognize how frustrating it must have been to find out on the day of the tour that museum entry wasn't included — especially since tickets to the Frida Kahlo Museum often sell out at least one to two weeks in advance. Unfortunately, this means it’s not possible for the guide or operator to offer same-day entry as an alternative. Paloma did her best to check in with our team, but at that stage, we were unable to secure tickets due to availability constraints. We truly appreciate your feedback, which helps us continue improving clarity and transparency on the booking platforms.
